When I heard about the new 8oz. rule I thought of Money May right away. Granted its not that big of a difference.

This new 8oz. glove thing, is this gonna hurt Floyd?

or will this new regulation benefit him like it does some of the other Welter weights?

With all the hand problems he's hand in the past i could see him frowning at the 8 oz. gloves and either lean closer to retirement or insist that his opponents wear the 10 oz.

On the other hand the 8oz.ers would b good for his speed and power also. How will this change the Welterweight division that clearly is on top right now, starting with it's pound for pound champ.

well its basically an advantage for handspeed and power at the same time.

so it would definitely good for mayweather and for every boxer

Obviously this guy aint been hit with 8oz cleto reyes, a lot of boxers dont like smaller gloves especially the reyes, good if your a puncher, but not if you have hand problems, I think Mayweather prefers Grant, just like winky, they look like big pillows.

IF Floyd does have hand injuries, It's not a benefit for him. I have had hand problems in the past and those gloves are like f*cking paper meche.

Floyd has fought all but two of his fights using 8 oz. gloves. This is really a non issue.

Reyes are leather and air so their not good at all to protect the hands. They don't benefit a defensive fighter like Mayweather at all especially if he fights a puncher but against De La Hoya it will be a chess match so I don't think it will have an influence on the result of the fight (Mayweather UD IMO).

:huh Floyd never hit with cleto reyes :huh

He started out using cleto which why he had a strong KO % in the early part of his career.

Considering he has worn them for about 75% of his fights, it won't be an issue.

Floyd fought punchers in the earlier part of his career with those gloves on. Corrales and Castillo wore them against him and they were 8oz. No problem for Floyd at all. I agree He'll just continue wearing the Grant brand cause they protect his hands better. If he continues fighting.
