It depends. Floyd could have success maintaining his distance with the jab to the body while he sidesteps and back-steps, but I think Cotto's going to show more movement up top and not let him stick it upstairs as often. I don't think Cotto's going to depend heavily on the jab, but he's going to step into it to get Floyd to the ropes. Floyd has never really been a runner, so I don't see him escaping Cotto, but rather choosing to deal with him up close. If Floyd out-jabs Cotto, I think it will be coming forward behind stiff one-twos in the event that Cotto has no plan B, which I hope is not the case. The reach advantage is there, but Floyd has rarely depended on a jab for distance or measurement or set-up, and would rather land leads and counters he times well and is sure will land.

I don't think Mayweather will need to bother even getting into a jabbing battle. He doesn't really use that punch much. Pac was able to time Cotto's jab and land left straight counters...Mayweather will be able to use his pull counter if Cotto tries to stand and jab from range, and if Cotto comes forward with the jab Mayweather can roll the jab to the side with his shoulder before countering with his right.

Cotto does have a good jab, but it's not something that will particularly trouble Floyd after the opening round or two. His hands are slower and he doesn't have the same sort of reach. He has good timing with his jab, but I can't see him managing to do much with it in this match.

pull counters all night. Cotto better work on that lazy jab. But I still think cotto has a good chance.

i guess floyd will get comatose and the pac-may fight will never happen. Cotto will become the P4P King Emeritus

Same way it went vs Marquez and De La Hoya. One sided domination. Cotto is slower with a 6 inch reach disadvantage. Money all night. Floyd likes the jab agaisnt boxers always has.

pre Margo Cotto had a small chance. This version has a 0% chance. The one thing Cotto had going for him was his ability to cut the ring off and the left hook to the body which doesn't move like Floyds head. Cotto just isn't an elite fighter anymore. I don't see anyone that could beat Floyd short of him moving up to middle to take on Sergio.

    Mayweather has good jabs..

    Cotto has better jabs.. :bbb

Lets not forget that Cotto's stronger hand is his left hand.. So everything he throws with his left is hard.. :deal
