In Britain & Ireland we currently have a good crop of amateurs, how well do you think they will do when the turn pro?

Jack Bateson (48kg), Andrew Selby, Patrick Barnes(52kg), Michael Conlon, John Joe Nevin (turned pro but hasn't had pro fight, 56kg), Charles Flynn (60kg), Samuel Maxwell (62kg), Fred Evans (69kg) Jason Quigly, Antony Fowler (75kg), Thomas McCarthy (91kg), Joesph Joyce (+91kg)

I wish more UK amateurs would go to the US when they go pro tbh. I see Nevin doing well.

Can't see Joe Joyce being that great in the pros. Watched him a few times in WSB and he takes far too many shots for a heavyweight.

From the sounds of it, a few of the names I mentioned have already turned pro, which can only be good news as we get to find out the answer sooner.

Also, I said British and Irish, as I am both, so enough of the Irish argument haha

Il rate there pro prospects out of 10 , taken there division into account and age

Bateson- 6.5 havnt seen much him , still young and euro bronze medal . If goes pro will probebly fight at a higher weight class than he should in order to make more money which he probebly shouldn't do

Selby-8.5 very talented top class boxer although seems to lack power only down point . In my view could win a world title

Barnes-8 would be a great little pressure fighter but I could see him fight at flyweight or superfly instead of straw eight or light fly where I feel he could be a world champion

Conlon-7 Conlon is a very good boxer and still young and is still developing. Could be a good pro but I just have a feeling he would never make it to the top

Nevin-9 again like selby incredibly talented and will be very fun to watch. Very unorthodox , it will all depend on his power although I think he will be a good puncher. If he stays focused I feel he can win a world title at some point

Maxwell-4 impressive amatuer but I don't he will make a great po at all

D j Joyce -8 he has a pro style in the amatuers , needs to turn pro as he is getting on in years. Don't know how far he would go but would be a big draw so exciting to watch

Evans-4 don't rate Evans at all , not a great puncher and doesn't seem to have a great chin. And would be fighting at a very competitive weight class. Would be lucky to get to European level IMO

Quigley-9 think he would be a fantastic pro very well rounded boxer , if he adapts well to the pro game and sits down on his shots more will at least get to world level

Fowler8.5 again I think this guy is quality and a very good puncher and would make a great pro. Only rate Quigley above him because I think he had more skill and has achieved a lot more as an amatuer although fowler could be a bigger puncher

Ward-9.5 would almost give him 10. Has everything and I feel would make a better pro than he is amatuer dispite him being one of the best fighters at 81kg in the world since he was 17. Huge puncher , skill level is through the roof and can both box and fight. Could be a very exciting fighter. If he proves to have good stamina and is dedicated IMO he will definetly be a world champion , although light heavyweight is going to be arguably the hottest division in boxing very soon

McCarthy- between 4 and 8 can't really judge tommy , I don't have a clue how he will do, always felt he under achieved as an amatuer as I believe his very talented also I dot know if he will achieve the fitness to go 12 rounds. On the plus side good talent and has a lot of heart and is fun to watch

Joyce- 5 would be a solid domestic heavyweight but can see him going much further. To stiff will struggle with guys with movement and takes a lot of shots so anyone with good power will have him in trouble. On the plus side his a big bloke and I feel he will have incredible stamina over 12 rounds so if he turns out to have a cast iron chin than he might do better than I expect

Has Evans been knocked out then in the amateurs? I thought he was rated as a top 3 welterweight?

Apparently he's been arrested for assault as well in the last few days...
