If Wilder fights Ortiz, win or lose, he must earn at least some respect here. Ortiz is top-5 opponent, big gap in skills between him and previous 5 title challengers. Szpilka was also southpaw, but worse at everything - skills, power, chin, ring IQ
The devastating bronze bomber, don't duck no man. Deontay was confronted by the violent gypsy Tyson Fury in the ring. As soon as Tyson looked at Wilder in the eyes, he knew he ****ed up. And soon retired, knowing he couldn't win against such a unstoppable opponent!
It was the smartest decision Tyson has ever made in his life. Either retire in peace or get retired by the devastating bronze bomber!
I'm actually really worried this fight won't happen. Think about it, haymon wouldn't have Jacobs vs Lee on an undercard its a great fight and they are well known in new York. I see Ortiz somehow not being able to fight, wilder fighting a bum on the undercard at late notice, could be anyone if they decide not to put the wbc on the line
Ortiz may be overrated by some, but even then would Wilder fight someone of Ortiz's quality? These last couple of years Wilder has seemed reluctant to fight anyone near the top 10 of the division. Even if this fight gets made official I'm not sure it will end up happening. Something will somehow get in the way of it.
Im not believing anything until a real life representitive in both camps makes a statement. This seems pretty stupid that its not officially announced if there was a sighning. Articles and what fighters say is just a rumor until proven otherwise.
my guess is Wilder will either contend that he doesn't fight lower primates, much less larger ones, or that King Kong Ortiz has never been a gardener, librarian, or even a cab driver, and so isn't qualified.
