because he never checked out for the "ok" blood clot removed from his dome. and the rest is a bad made for tv movie.
I know we shouldn't be thinking about his career after the despicable acts he's reported to have committed in recent months, however as a boxing fan, I can't help but wonder what an incredible fighter he could have been. We always knew he was an aggressive slugger, with freakish power and speed. But in his last outing I was surprised to see him display other skills, such as evading and brushing off incoming attacks. I remember the commentators stating that Valero as a young fighter, was in fact noted for his slickness and impressive defence. I honestly think he was cut from the same cloth as Pacquiao, and could have achieved similar feats had he been guided in the same way. But sadly like many other gifted fighters (Tyson of course comes to mind), his demons outside of the ring got the better of him. I was/is a fan of the ability he possessed in the ring, and in that respect I regret seeing this outcome.
everyone who says he was a coward (in his boxing career) I feel are missing the point in that I think he was just starting to build up a head of steam leading on to him fighting some of the 'names' of the sport. After all, he only fought 27 times, and the majority of those fights ended in the first round. How on earth would he be ready for world class fighters after a pro boxing career of some 20 rounds? So cool your boots, boxing wise his time would have come. It's just a shame he was a mentalist.
whatever...rip him apart. I'm saddened to see someone that needed help ...and got pardoned by cops and his country....and let him go on his self destructive path that cost the life of his innocent and supportive wife.... and to eventually take his own life as well...leaving their young child and orphen. I was a big fan of him in the ring...and i had high hopes for him.... I expected him to do his time in the rehab... 6 months....not when they let him go a week later... drunk on a rampage.....and not arrest him from himself and family. they let someone that needed help go loose. and the result was his wife's life and his own sure you can call him a coward.... it's not something me or most would do. but then again ...i'm not crazy..... and you probably are not either. god bless.
don't kick yourself... you're a boxing fan primarlily and commenting on a boxer and what could have been.... not some whoever the hell that you just up and decided to give some credence to. He had a big future.... he got rocked by demons....even more so than any boxer with brains and balls could handle. he is not a jake lamotta or monzon.
"in the ring" he would always find a way to win. I felt he wasn't ready for pac. but the others that were there were easy wins for him. alexander...etc...maidana would have been a first round k.o. bradley would have been a problem for him.... either way...he will never get some bells rung for him before a fight. hbo or showtime..... i'm pretty sure that his mistakes of taking his wifes life and his own won't win him any honor even in venezuela. I think in America...mike tyson was handled correctly in his turmoil. valero got pardoned pardoned pardoned....and that cost some lives.
