Seriously...killing yourself means you are a coward...simple as!
He kills his wife, leaves his child(ren) parentless, and can't face upto what he deserves...a life in prison, and you say it takes a lot of balls??? No chance!
You say your not defending him...fair enough. But he is still a coward. If it takes a lot of balls to kill yourself...you would see a hell of a lot of more people doing it!

    I will remember Valero as:

    1) The undefeated boxer with all his wins coming by KO
    2) The boxer who could have had a great future in boxing
    3) The boxer whos' life spiraled out of control due to drugs

For those of you that are quick to judge Valero, take a look at your lifes and learn from his mistakes. Valero was not a murderer but a drug addict whose addiction led him to committ murder. How many of you have abused either alchohol or drugs at one time or another? If you have, I'm sure you know what it feels like to be out of control. It just so happens that most of us have been lucky not to have done what Valero did. Drugs is the real problem and Valero's tragic incident should bring it too light instead of this constant name calling I have heard from fans.

besides edwin was all drugged out at the hotel, He didnt even know he killed her until hours later! And when he came back to reality the day later he killed himself... so he was not a monster... He just had drug problems and maybe a mental illness??

that doesn't make any sense, and neither does it calling someone who has killed themselves a coward.

    No....he was a monster.

Disregard the fact that he killed his wife, just for a second. Previous to that he forced his wife to take drugs and beat her on numerous occasions, hospitalising her at least once. He also threatened his mother and his sister. I find it interesting that all his violent acts outside of the ring were centred on women, don't you?

I wouldn't exactly call someone who kills themselves brave. It would take a lot more balls to take the punishment they deserve...killing themselves = The Cowards way out!

(My previous post before this kinda didn't get my point across and didn't make any sense like you said, but I'd only just got in from town after having a few drinks!)

A murderer is a murderer...an excuse for the majority of murderers is they were influenced by drink or drugs, or said person had mental issues. No doubt that these factors can influence and push a person towards murder, but I've read and seen accounts of plenty of people in worse situations who don't resort to murder...never mind murdering your wife!

I maintain you have to have balls to go through with killing yourself. Could you do it? (I mean that as question, not an insult).
