Okay. Maybe I should have said if. Oh well, bygones.

Hopkins chances are much greater than the odds currently show. If his 23 year old body is up for the task, Hopkins is a stylistic nightmare for Joe. His straight right, and uppercut on the inside, will find the mark over and over. Hopkins know how to use footwork, and effective smothering tactics, to hinder Calzaghe's work rate. Hopkins should land the cleaner punches all fight long. If Hopkins were only a bit younger. I would be interested in wagering serious money on him.

I realize that Joe Calzaghe's speed and workrate pose serious problems for Bernard. This is probably the toughest fight of Hopkins' career. I have only picked against Hopkins once since he faced Roy Jones, and that was against Jermain Taylor. I was all but ready to do it again for this fight. Then I watched a little of Hopkins' recent training footage and decided to give the old man the benefit of the doubt. I always thought he had the skillset to defeat Joe, I just didn't know if he would be physically able. He still looks a bit athletic. More than he did againt Wright.

    Anyway.

If, I mean when Hopkins beats Calzaghe, where will you rate him all time? Keep in mind that Calzaghe is to super middleweights what Hopkins was to middleweights when Hopkins faced Taylor.

When you are more certain regarding your own convictions regarding a winner, I'll respond. :D

Taylor just isn't in the same bracket as Calzaghe. I can't envisage at this stage how Hopkins wins this fight.

I can't see it. Hagler would beat him if they were ever to square off too.

Well, he'll have more defences at MW, a resume that is far from inferior, wins against the best 175lb fighter at the time of his arrival and the best 168 fighter of all time.

    Hagler is stuck at MW.

As for head to head, I take Hopkins. But I'm far from sure.

Calzaghe is not the best 168 fighter of all-time.

Jones would have made a ****** of him.

    **** the long WBO reign.

Achievement wise he is. if Jones consolidated at SM more he would be, but he didn't. Jones beats Calzaghe head to head in my opinion but that's besides the point.

Hopkins would possibly just crack my top 10 at 160,,I know its illogical but if he convincingly beats Joe I would have to admit I underated him and move him up a notch or two

I would view Bernard as I always have..... not the best MW ever, but a good solid one.....
