The pressure of knowing that his hypothetical promoter was going to quit the sport if he lost must have been more than he could hypothetically bear.

he was even worse professional in the Swaby fight mate.

He was out boozing :drink - just a few hours before he was due in the ring with Swaby. :yikes He came in the ring - still hung over and slightly pissed..................

It seems Enzo has a history of eating or drinking too close to some of his fights.

And there are quotes on the internet to confirm this.

I would have thought there might have been a few packs of Monster Munch stashed away in the people carrier. These would have come in handy on fight day, providing regular energy top ups without feeling bloated.

The idea of finding that wretched chippy will haunt Enzo for ever, which needn't have happened considering all the bits of storage space those Zafiras have. The glove compartment would have easily taken a multi pack on its own.

    Specifically it was

Mickeys Fish and Chip Bar - somewhere in London.

I wonder if anyone has been there ?

    Whats the food like ?

    Are they hygenic - ? -

I guess we can't be talking about Enzo Mac here.

I have it on very good authority (bloke with staring eyes that I met in the car park at Magor services) that in mid-January 2008 Enzo Mac and Enzo Calzaghe had a massive row on the forecourt of Bridgend Ford that was so heated it must surely rank as the biggest fight of Enzo Mac's life.

Enzo M was gobsmacked by the quality of the S-Max show car interior in comparison with the low-rent Zafira that he had been used to. Big Mac really appreciated the oddments storage areas, just perfect for stashing your can of Tizer, bag of Monster Munch and Brylcreem. The glovebox too impressed, cavernous enough so you could not only transport your Pie & Chips, but you could also get a fishcake and a couple of saveloys inside, probably.

It took Bradley Price and Joe Calzaghe to convince Enzo Mac to climb back in the Zafira so that Enzo C could drive him home. With the fight against Haye at this point only a couple of months away - it was an early sign that all was not right in the Maccarinelli camp. Enzo C tried to make it up to the big man by popping into Fforestfach Tesco to treat the lads to a Ginsters cheese'n'onion pastie and a krispy kreme each. Shortly afterwards, when he dropped Enzo Mac off, Bradley noticed that Enzo M had wiped a bogy on the back of Enzo C's seat in the Zafira. With hindsight we can see it would take more than just junk food to get the big man back to his best.

hmm there a few other factors to consider. If he was to eat that meal then do something short and exerting before the food had settled properly like a short dash to somewhere important it could well affect the unnamed persons performance.

Also as it is a fight and there would be alot of illumination if the fighter was subject to unexpected levels of dim lighting in the events preceeding the fight that could also cause an issue. Was there some issue with lightining before the fight or on the way there??? something as small as a broken light could make a huge difference on the outcome.

Indigestion and some sort of night-blindness issue.

    Sounds extremely plausible.

Especially since I remember reading something about the headlamp failure on the Zafira. Sadly the 2000 model doesn't have the warning sign on the dashboard for this issue.
