Would have loved to seen the trash talk towards some of these social media warriors like Crying Garcia.

Crawford beats him but it would be fun

Everyone else its kind of up in the air, you have to remember he beat Forrest twice and six heads Lewis.

I never thought he was too good. He had a good chin and a wild style and stylistically he could offset some styles. He had a good win early on, with Lewis and especially Vernon Forrest, but then it was loss after loss. He made the press conferences interesting but how was he so good where we put him in another era and ask how he would do? He would win one or two big fights and lose to the rest who were good, and have interesting press conferences.

Like his personality, Mayorga lived a wild lifestyle. He loved drinking and smoking... smoking like 2-3 packs of cigarettes a day. It was always going to catch up with him and his prime had a short lifespan.

I think the version that that beat Lewis and Forrest was by far the best version. After that he started deteriorating. I think the prime version would do very well today.

He did make for fun fights, but his pressers/ face offs were off the scale

There could never be a prime version of him, his life style could never get him even close to prime.
In the street or a brawl I’d want him onside though

Perhaps, but that was a very short prime. A lot of those guys who fight wild like Mayorga or Roldan once they settle down a little in the late rounds they get hit. Defense is the problem.

Mayorga vs Porter would've been fun two extremely aggressive fighters going at it.

big mayorga fan back then. he was good enough to beat Forrest twice, almost spinks and hung with some good fighters. I think he would be in the mix

When he came up he surprised some guys like Forrest then it got to a point where he was a stunt fighter brought to make others look great. Extremely entertaining fighter in and out of the ring and a big overachiever. Miss him.
