How would a prime Bowe have fared against the Klitschkos?

I guess between two of us you are the one who never seen him fight. Plodding footwork and no outside game is trademark Bowe. If he had both of those he would have had much easier time with Evander.

-Right now, I'm thinking 90's Wlad destroys Bowe. Not sure about the more cautious Wlad of today. Even though today's Wlad hasn't lost in years, that really says more about the division he's feasted on lately. In the 90's, Wlad had the style that would give Bowe little chance to make a fight of it. And styles make fights.

-Prime Vitali beats Bowe up enroute to a late stoppage win. It could become a slugfest if Bowe gets in, because Vitali doesn't hold on the inside like Wlad does. This will give Bowe some openings to work on the inside, but Vitali can take it. Nothing more to say here.

By comparison, Prime Lennox Lewis KO's Bowe early and more emphatically than either brother could hope to. Bowe literally threw his belt away in his quest to continue running from Lennox back then. Lennox beats Bowe on the inside AND outside.

We never really saw Bowe take on a guy that was as big, skilled, and powerful as those three (Prime LL, early 2000's VK, 90s WK). That's not to say Riddick Bowe was no good -- it just means he'd have a tough time dealing with those 3 match-ups, imo. Bowe was at his best when he held a size and power advantage.

He hit harder, but Haye was a natural knockout artist, which Bowe wasn't. And foot speed, hand speed and defense go to Haye.

If you're able to move around the ring for 12 rds like Haye did, you sure as hell are able to plant your feet and whack with full force.

Wlad never connected flush, because he had a reluctant target. You can't hit effectively a running target.
And Bowe got hurt by much lesser punchers than Haye. Hell, even Coetzer shook him before getting his balls smashed.

Bowe was good for a short time, but the 5 people that think he could beat Vitali, wtf?

Madballster is making some very strong points. Bowe would even eat a right cross just to get inside on EVANDER, the smaller man. No way that would work against a Klitschko, regardless of version.

What don't you know? What would he have that Vitali could not handle?

Being that the best win on both of their resume's is Sam Peter it's extremely hard to judge. I think Vitali beats him (by virtue of how good he was against Lewis) and Bowe beats Wlad.

if you think Sam Peter is wlad's best win, then you have allot more to discover about him and his resume.

i think Bowe surely beat Wlad via KO, but Vitali is very strong and smart very hard to judge this fight, i think Vitali via SD, or Bowe by late KOT.

Bowe was absolutely clueless on the outside.
Ppl. say that for a big man he had great inside game, what they forget to mention is that for a big man he had an awful outside game, and that's the most important thing for a big sized boxer.

The only way for him to win against Wlad is to close up and land something big before wlad manages to tie him up.
His defense is less then impressive and if he's kept on the outside he will get absolutely obliterated by either one of them.

I don't think there's any quick and easy answer here. Bowe remains an enigma in many ways.
He has the tools to beat a lot of quality fighters head-to-head, but does he have the drive and consistency? That was often sorely lacking.

He certainly would be a much sterner test than virtually all of the Klitschko title challengers though, not that that is saying a great deal.
