when a former champion has fought his way back to #1 contender for knocking out rated fighters having only lost the odd hometown decision since losing the title he must still be within some kind of prime. charles was not in the ex champ joe louis mold, he was but two years older than the curent champion with a disputed loss and 2 wins over the previous champion. he was not "done" at world level was he?

How do you define hometown decision?

Other than layne, the other losses seem legitimate and the johnson loss definitely was.

Ofcourse he was still very good, just not as good as he once was.

No I had Charles winning the Johnson fight. It was close, but Charles won it by 3 rounds on my last score card a few years back lol.

Charles by 3? You think johnson only won 3 of those rounds?

    I'd suggest you rewatch it.

I'd love to know on what basis you make this claim.

Have you carried out a poll of those who've watched it?

Oh yes? How come a poll in 2009 on this forum voted for charles? I have bumped that thread so you can check out the "total bull****" for yourself.:D

Nothing interesting about a poll of 5 voters.

I don't need my maths degree to tell you that is the sort of a stunt a bull**** artist would pull.

I am not saying you are wrong, even I make the fight close, I am just saying so far people who have scored the film lean more toward charles than johnson. there is no right or wrong just popular and unpopular.
