Probably would beat a decent bit of the big, slow guys in the division today. The best guy he'd beat is likely Parker.
He would do very well. Whether he would hold a belt is harder to say. There is no easy route to a strap at heavyweight today, and won't be any time soon.
Joshua won a belt vs Charles Martin. Dubois has been gifted the vacated IBF belt. Stirverne won a vacated belt from beating a Chris Arreola who he'd already beaten.
Byrd could definitely have beaten Charles Martin, but that is a fair bit ago now. Very valid point, I stand corrected. Also ancient history now.
Right now he would wouldn’t win a belt. He’s not beating Usyk, Fury or Joshua. But as others have stated a few years back he would of beat Arreola, Martin and Stiverne. By wide margin.
I think the issue was for quite a long time the division was being stalled now we have the actual big bights happening. So we can really gauge who are the top 3 of this era in probably the next 2 years or so.
Wouldn't be champ but after the Robotic performances of Big Bang and Joyce i can see Byrd collecting a few worthy scalps .
He'd be at the top of the division or very close to it. At his best I'd favor him over Fury or Joshua. A fight between him and Usyk could go either way.
He would do well. Out of everyone I think Joshua would be a bad matchup for him. Usyk probably beats him as well but it would be a tactical fight.
