How would a prime matt skelton do in today heavyweight?

    dont get me wrong i think skeltons when he was at his best was only european level but that was in HIS day. with the current state of the heavyweights that are considered contenders id put him up their ahead of arreola, adamek, peter, chisora, fury, chambers. he's 6'3" and must of been around the 17 18 stone mark. his mauling style was hard for people to deal with and he was real heavy handed and a strong man. i would think that type of style would have given haye trouble as well. i dont think he beats either of the k bros but he gives em a decent fight.

    If I remember rightly Chagaev beat him without too much of a problem, and I don't think the heavyweight scene is much different from then, so I don't see how Skelton would fare much better these days.

    Head butt his way to victory I reckon.
    Skelton was a tough *******, but declined very quickly in terms of punch resistance in I think his last 3-4 fights. Who was it who stopped him unexpectedly a couple of years ago?

    Yeah, he'd do the same as he did back then. Pretty well at domestic, the odd success at Euro and beaten when he stepped up to meet the "top" guys.

    2004-2007 he was one of the top boys along with sprott an williams! and ok he was beaten but he went the distance with chagaev who is still a top contender. and no doubt he was old when he started so imagine if he boxed all his life instead of pissing around in k1 and thai boxing. and he was a world champ at thai so that shows he had something about him. im not saying he'd of ran over everyone but he'd make for more interesting fights than most of the heavies out their now. 2010 prize fighter he beat mcbride who just took adamek the distance and he'd give adamek more grief than mcbride did even now.

    Where the **** are all these new posters coming from with these weird threads? Matt Skelton? He got handled by Chagaev, then knocked out by Rogan. He's gack and always has been. His best win was over an even-fatter-than-usual Danny Williams.

    Even fellow fat man Arreola would knock him senseless, same with Peter, Chambers, etc.,

    He was **** even at his best.

    yea and that was in his later years! they guys in his 40's. he was better than all the above in his day! and rogan had just beaten harrison who had a shot at the world title. and just because i dont post like you do it dont mean i cant have an opinion so take your head out of your arse coz if it was so weird why would you post on it?? why would u even entertain looking?? jog on.
