Camtwee, don't be too hard on Dino, he tries really, really, really hard to keep up. I hear that he reads everything twice to make sure. It's not his fault. ;)

Let's see what's been racked up on this thread.
    1) Wlad is faster than Ali.
    2) Ali had stamina problems.
    3) None of Ali's opponents knew how to cut off the ring.
    4) Wlad's ring I.Q. was greater than Ali's.
    5) Wlad is fitter than Ali.
    6) Ali was not 6'3" he lied about his height.
    7) Liston's prime was in 1954
    8) Haye was faster than Ali.
    9) Haye had better defence than Ali.
    10) Most Ali fought were statues.
    11) And this priceless one. "Jimmy Wilde wouldn't even be fit to lace Lee Selby's gloves."

And let's not forget that Ali was a perpetual motion machine, that Ali NEVER gassed, that Wlad wouldn't even land a glove on him, and that Wlad, a guy with a doctorate, was a dummy.

Sweet, killer arguments, guys, well done. Woo!

if you got the exact same Jimmy Wilde of 1915 and put him against Lee Selby of today (100 years later) you think that Jimmy Wilde would win?
Jimmy Wilde is one of the best ever, he has done much more than Lee probably ever will. But if you got the exact same Wilde and put him in the modern game he would not be as half as good. Dont tell me that boxers havent improved in 100 years. Same with any sport. For example Donald Lippincott held the 100m world record in 1912, his time was 10.6. Nowadays, that time would barely get you through the preliminary rounds. I find it astonishing why people believe that boxing has stood still for 100 years, whilst the other sports around it have improved greatly.

I was wondering if you weren't an alt of a regular who had finally gotten tired of the DinoHerol hate train and had decided to come and spank them. This post says to me you are not. 80% of the posts in classic are essentially about this question.

"Yes but training methods have improved"
"Yes but the old guys were tougher, look at their times"
"Yes but nutrition is better than then too"
"Are you counting steroids as nutrition?"

    etc etc etc

Don't be intimidated by Dino / Herol and their hangers on. The only thing they bring to the table is OCD hatred of anything Klitschko. If you look at Dino's posts for example, 75% of whatever he posts is 180' from reality :yep

Yes im a complete newbie. I will admit that i have been on the forum for no longer than a month? Just stating and backing up my personal opinions with evidence amd facts. Im not going to hate on any fighter, just going to be honest and accept the reality of boxing and the fighters in the sport. I appreciate the introduction.

    Vlad OWNs Dino and Herol.

They expected Vlad to fall and when he didn't they both became more and more angered by his success. The longer it lasted the more they lost control of their hate towards Wlado :deal

The more they lost control of their hate the more they posted that hate onto ESB :bbb

You don't even have to go back 100 years to see that boxers have improved. Just compare fighters from the 20s to fighters from the 80s.

You also don't need to go back 100 years for your track and field example. Jim Hines was the first sprinter to have a time of under 10 seconds.

Cringeworthy. So instead of admitting either a mistake or a lie, you claim Ali lied about his height. Marvelous. When I see posts like this, I am glad I'm not on that side of the fence.

Wlad or Vitali is as big of a mismatch for Ali as Tyson would be!Maybe worse considering Ali would always have that slight chance to adjust to Tyson, not the case for klitchkos.

exactly, i only went back that far to compare Jimmy Wilde and Lee Selby. I completely agree.
