You as usual don't know what you are talking about..an athlete by definition is someone who is trained or skilled in any sport that requires strength/endurarance etc....a pro boxer is an athlete,it doesn't require more than one specific sport or skill level!:-(

Your last sentence you took stupidity to a new level! :silly

i copied that definition from the worlds leading dictionary. But yeah, your obviously more educated...

And for your information, Bruce Lee used modern training techniques such as weight training and plyometrics. Sorry mate, try again.

Actually he did! he lifted daily ,he was able to concentration curl 80 pounds at a bodyweight of 145 which is really good, you don't do that without lifting weights.

Ted Wong trained with lee over 5 years and has his strength training program which includes WEIGHTS...do you ever post correct info?

There are many images of him shoulder pressing and curling etc

PS a shoulder press and a curl is a movement involving weights if you did not know. And just type into google "Bruce Lee Weight Training".

Bruce Lee didn't like the effects weight lifting had on his body so stopped using them.

But regardless of that , you tried to claim 'modern training methods' are lifting and doing push ups.

And basically said weight lifting made Bruce Lee the man he was.

Put the word out. All you need to be the next Bruce Lee is a S&C coach:tired:dead

He was one of the very first people to adopt modern training methods such as weight training, plyometrics and isometrics. I think thats why he was so abnormally strong, fast and fit

He did strength training. That doesn't make him a weight lifter. He reduced his weight lifting because he wasn't comfortable with the bulk.

Strength training is not a modern training technique and it was just a fraction of what made him who he was.

so he did weight lifting and then he "reduced" his lifting as he wasn't comfortable with bulk,,,

that's quite opposite from your statement, "he never lifted weights" now isn't it ??????

    apology accepted Dino :good

Don't ever try to LIE to this forum ever again or there will be hell to pay Dino, HELL to pay :deal

I said he 'didn't' lift weights. His preferred position on the issue was general strength training after he dabbled with both. He reduced his lifting to focus on speed and power. So essentially he didn't lift weights. So essentially i was correct. So now you can apology to me

Yup this sums up the cluelessness of a number of posters on this thread. Some of them are so fanciful I can't help but laugh out loud. Ali had stamina problems??!!! Tell that to Joe Frazier (through a medium obviously) and he will come back to haunt you!

where did you get that information from? Because Ted Wong has stated that Bruce Lee loved weight training as it made him more explosive, he also stated that he used reps ranging from 15-20 which made him gain lean muscle mass without gaining any unfunctional bulk.

saying the word ESSENTIALLY does not change the fact that he did some weight lifting when you claimed he "NEVER" did weight lifting with your post :nono

You said he didn't lift weights, the very fact you then claim he reduced his weight lifting proves he was doing "some" lifting of weights :p

Now you owe the forum another apology for trying to get of your apology by misusing the word "essentially"

**grabs dino by the collar again and rubs his nose in his own urine for trying to weasel out of his apology
