Ruiz is basically a semi retired fighter dining on one payday, if he was active in the 70s he'd have to fight regularly to make a living and duck nobody. Quarry and Bonavena had 70 career fights each, not 36 at mostly journeyman level.

Not all the top 10 heavies today punch as hard as Frazier or Foreman did. Ali was faster than nearly every active heavyweight and Frazier had better head movement. Fury`s power is only 5/10 P4P and 7/10 in terms of the effect his punches have on his opponents only due to his size his body mechanics are nowhere near as good as Foreman`s.

No way, tennis has evolved far more than boxing.

Ali`s chin was better than Ruiz`s is, he got hurt by Areola but Ali took Shavers best shots.

They didn`t fight with wooden rackets in the 60`s and 70`s.

While I overall agree that boxers have benefited from modern fitness and technology, Ruiz is the prime example of someone who hasn't used any of those benefits and is pretty low in skillsets. His only asset are his fast hands. Other than that he has terrible head and hip movement leaky defense, and worst of all for an offensive fighter he doesn't know how to cut off the ring. He looked terrible against a shot Arreola who also plods along. The only reason he beat AJ was because AJ took Ruiz on short notice, took him lightly, and doesn't have a great chin. Ali has a lot more grit and is wayyy more skilled than Ruiz. Ali would box circles around Ruiz.

They would have to compete without or with less efficient magic products though.

    So let's compare what's comparable...

Man I disagree with him about skill and speed, but they're all stronger than Frazier was. Like, you can't think these 188cm/6'2"+ 100kg/220+ pound guys with modern sports science are weaker than 5'11"/180cm 200 pound Joe Frazier. Frazier didn't even lift weights
