He would be a light heavyweight or cruiserweight. But if he took the PED's Holyfield did, he could be a heavyweight as the limit in the 1990's back then was just 190 pounds.

I would not write him off vs Moorer, Lewis, a Bowe post-Holyfield, or even to get his " lottery punch in on Lewis "

Ir you have great power, you can be a Tommy Morrison type, except Fitz had more heart, chin and stamina than the Duke.

I would not pick him vs a focused Bowe or Lewis, but then again these two were not always focused. Fitz might have KO'd Moorer, or outboxed McCall. 50/50

So he could have won the lineal title in the 1990's.

Part of the problem here, is that we are not sure exactly how big Fitzsimmons was.

He was repeatedly accused by the media of underreporting his weight, and with no formal weigh ins, we can’t be sure that he didn’t.

This is true. Jeffries said if Fitz says he's 170 for the fight, put me down for 144 please. It was common back then for fighters to ***** their weights a bit lower.

Fitz with his broad shoulders and lanky arms might have had a greater reach than is stated. Might being the key word.

Oh that's right, you never pick white fighters to win. Or almost never do. Now I'm picking up on why you are replying.

Sure he would not get through the amateurs today! USA Amateur boxing is terrible. Jeffries would quickly be their #1 heavy

Racist KKK poster accuses others of racism

No, no, plenty of modern white boxers would beat Fitz and Jeffries fairly easily, avoiding the HW division where there are plenty of white guys who'd whip either see Kovalez and GGG. Boxing moved on after the semi pro era

BTW have you stopped threatening pensioners yet and ready to fight someone your own age?

Froch and calxaghe would both beat Fitz. David Haye would give Jeffries a boxing lesson.
Foreman, Lewis, Liston, Frazier and Tyson would bet who could knock out Mr Jeff quickest... .....Foreman wins the bet
