No ****ing yanks aren't idiots just posters like p4pG who say Wards resume is better because he beat a past it Kessler. And Froch is apparently **** according to him too and by many that is considered Wards second best win so I guess by those standards Wards resume is ****. A old Bhop sandwiched between some of Bhops best wins is better than all of Wards wins.

easy brother. If you act as biased as the Yanks then you look as bad as them. Joe had class in his fantastic fitness and dedication, no doubt but he had weaknesses like most boxers that he hid all too well.

be reasonable, beating even a 43 year old sugar ray robinson is not better than beating a fresh peak dominant champ like Ward.

Hopkins may have outthought Pascal but his number was up and the clock was ticking as soon as he hit 40.

Dawson beats him, not sure about Cloud. Ward and Bute beat him as well

    Calzaghe was terribly overrated

That version of Hopkins best Tarver, Winky, and then Pavlik and Pascal after he lost to Calzaghe yea thats better than Kesslers recent wins who is considered Wards best win so it is fairly reasonable.

Point taken, but no way is beating a 40something on par with beating a prime dominant champ, not in any world. Still, beating a man with a fortysomething set of lungs is far from beating them in their prime. Its not a great win for Calzaghe, all it proved is that a fit Bhop would have schooled him.

Calzaghe had a china jaw. Powerful and slick fighters like Bute or Dawson would crack it. :yep

By ESB standards , the guy in the past murders today's SMW. Bute and Ward will be Calzaghe's toughest fights . Unpredictable results , I must say.

Cals chin is certainly not china! but its not a iron chin at all, he regularly gets dropped by guys with ordinary power or oldies.

Its more accurate to say that Calzaghe had excellent recuperative ability, whenever he was dropped he would always be up on his feet and returning fire fast.

3 knockdowns (one or two being flash knockdowns) in an entire career does not constitute a china jaw. He took big hits from some big hitters and ate em up

An excellent summary but he wasnt dropped regularly - only 3 times and I think only once as an amateur (if at all)

'had excellent recuperative ability' - yes he had

Bute and Dawson certainly are not 'guys with ordinary power or oldies' :yep

Not saying it is this great win although I do think it was a good one , just saying it is better than what Ward has done so far. Calzaghe also beat a better version of Kessler. Do i think Ward can surpass Calzaghe absolutely he has the skills but to say he beats him at this point or that his resume is better is ridiculous. I was just stating Hopkins value for pound4poundG who was completely discounting the win compared to all that Ward has done when Wards best wins Kessler who is past it still isn't as good as that version of Bhop or Froch who he called **** and thats arguably Wards 2nd best win.
