I dont think it would be a walk in the park , but id have him as the victor in the end A.A defense could pose a problem but no way joe stands in front and lets him drop those few and far between bombs . and the work rate would amazing those fighters .

I think Calzaghe would have a good chance of winning. If he did take Taylor's position and go on and win it, it would no doubt silence a few critics.

I highly doubt he would come back though. He moved upto Light Heavy for a reason. Even if he could make Super Middle again, would he still have his relentless workrate?? His workrate and his ability to adapt to an opponents style were major factors in him winning many of his bouts since his hands became really bad.

    He beats Kessler and Froch.
He beats Abraham and Ward. (Abraham is too stationary, Calzaghe also has a very good chin. Whilst Ward is too open when on the attack.)
I think he'd struggle with Dirrell's style, especially if Dirrell is very negative. But I wouldn't put it past Calzaghe adapting to that very quickly.

Kessler he has already beaten, AA and Froch I think are just too one dimensional (see Lacy fight), Joe's footwork and work rate would cut off the ring and not allow Dirrell to move and finally Ward I think is the toughest fight but Joe has the experience to beat Ward who at this stage is still very green and Joe is as good at boxing dirty as anyone.

maybe not easy as such but he would be the clear winner in each fight.

Yeah couldn't agree more. His face looked very bloated, obviously enjoying retirement.

He had a tuff fight against Kessler & we saw what happened to him against Ward. I think he would be the favorite though

JC would trash everyone in the tourney, not sure he could make 68 anymore though.

Calzaghe might have difficulty winning this now but prime Calzaghe would almost certainly

There's absolutely no way he could make 168, IMO. He was having a hard enough time making it back in 2007. Now that he's been walking around at 200 for a year, he's probably put on some extra muscle and would be a light-heavyweight if anything.

Also, the inactivity and age has to have hurt him speed-wise and in the area of conditioning. Those were his biggest assets later in his career, and without them he'd be vulnerable. Maybe his hands have healed to the point where he can revert to his old style, but I doubt it.

That said, if he did come in, he'd whip Froch on pure hatred, and outclass Ward, who fights similar to him. I think he'd find Dirrell and win by crowding him on the inside and mauling him all night. I could see him outpointing Abraham but still being dropped once or twice and breaking his hand on Abraham's concrete skull.

I think Kessler might be able to take him at this point. He's wanted the rematch for a few years and if he hasn't deteriorated too much from what he was in the first fight, I think he has the best chance of beating Calzaghe, having been in with him before. I'd still choose Calzaghe, but Kessler has a shot.

Aye, providing he could hit the weight safely with no other health issues, he would win all the fights by comfortable UD. I disagree re. dirrell, Calzaghe would out point him to death. Calzaghes footwork was class and he would cut dirrell off if he tried any of that running about. Abraham again is too stationary and Joe aint stupid, he'd be in out keeping good distance to avoid the big KO as soon as he tasted abrahams mit. Plus he more than has the chin to take a few big ones from abraham. Froch, no point discussing, kessler done before, Ward had a good performance against kessler, but Calzaghe was equally as dirty as anyone else he ever faced and would out point ward again, no where near as straight lined as kessler, his shots came from every angle

I'd have Berto and Joe in the final, with Joe winning.

Joe gets his ears boxed off by Dirrell and Ward...and gets KOed by Abraham.

He beats(slaps) the **** outta Froch
