Canelo stops Kirland, srs. Kirkland was almost done in 1 round against Angulo, Canelo would fight smarter and not gas.

Since when is Canelo a counter puncher? He initiates his own offense.

He is an offensive counter puncher... stalk his opponets and when there is an opnening he attacks.... he counter punches in the front foot if that is a word... not on the backfoot.

I suppose you missed when he dismantled Cintron with counterpunches. I do not see the massive upside in Canelo that a lot of his nuthuggers do but he can lead or counter, he can string together good combinations to the head and body, and his footwork is far better than Kirkland's will ever be. Jelly Jaw James will plod in straight lines all night (however short that may be!), try to bull and hook his way inside, and will be picked apart in a matter of seconds by Canelo who is more than capable of setting up good counter angles and using the jab to break up Kirkland's caveman attacks and set up harder counters. Hell, a jab will probably put Kirkland on ***** street again since he's already been dropped by one and wobbled by several others. He is a joke.:rofl:patsch

I wouldn't necessarrily call waiting for an opening, counter punching. I see him making the first move for the most part. But can see why some might say that. :thumbsup

I approve of this message..:hey I know you sometimes you disaproove of Canelo but It's nice to see you recognize some of his talents that he brings to the game. :good

Canelo is a strong dude, he dopped Gomez with a JAB lmao... He would wreck Kirkland with combos and counters. I don't see Kirkland making it past 8, he does have a good offensive game but his defense is to get hit and come back with his, i Just don't see him holding up to the Hard Counters and combos that canelo would put on Kirks BODY and head.

I know, but that word has always resonated with me when speaking of Canelo "offensive counter puncher" with a big punch in both hands and beautiful combos and sometimes shots that come in unorthodox angles with a great body game to add to that...:good Usually he breaks his opponents down and is not KO hungry.. but when he see's something a big opening he rushes in like a mad man.

He has solid punch power and Kirkland has a very shaky chin-At any moment Canelo could end it.

I would make the pressure go down by releasing it from Kirkland's mouth. And it is not that hard to make Kirkland open his mouth - make him gum shield fly with a left hook like a champagne bottle cover.

    This is an interesting fight.

I feel Kirkland has both the power and MEANINGFUL work rate to seriously trouble Canelo. Alvarez laying back absorbing punishment will not be an option as the damage would pile up quickly.

On the other hand Alvarez has the speed, accuracy, and explosiveness to put a crushing counter right on the button. As we have seen with Ishida, Kirkland's chin may not survive the shot. The question is how much sting will Saul have if he lets James "get work" for a few rounds feeling him out?

This is an interesting fight. 154-160 are becoming increasingly more interesting.

GBP feeds Kirkland the tough guys? Who are these tough guys you speak of?

I would say it's safe to say that Canelo's resume is slightly better than Kirklands.
