Always been a big fan of Jacobs. But no, he doesn't fit in with them in the slightest. Neither does Lara, who many thought beat Canelo anyway.

Loses to Leonard and Hearns at 154, beats Duran.
Beats Leonard, Hearns and Duran at 160, loses to Hagler.
    Beats the rest at 168.

The error of your ways is that you assume those guys showed up in their best form on every occasion. Hearns got ragdolled by Hagler, rocked by Roldon, and lost twice to Barkley, getting laid out once. Duran lost to Laing and Simms, and quit against Leonard. Benitez had off nights in his best years and fell off steeply. Leonard was a shell of himself at 160. Yes, they all could’ve competed and picked up some wins.

It's a tough call because Canelo fought in many weights and the men mentioned peaked at different weights ..

A 147 pound Canelo is not beating Ray at welter .. Ray by decision ..

The Duran of Montreal decisions Canelo to me ..

At 154 Hearns was a monster ... Canelo is not stopping him like an Amir Kahn .. I like Tommy ..

At 160 he's not beating a prime Hagler ... If the monster Hagler shows up he beats Canelo, period .. Canelo couldn't beat an old GGG and he's not beating a prime Marvin ..

None of this is any knock on Canelo , he's a great fighter .. He'd be dangerous for each of them and anything could happen ..

I've always assumed in fantasy match ups we are talking about fighters in their prime showing up at their best. In which case, no, they couldn't have competed.

In that case, Leonard couldn’t compete with Duran, Hearns, and Hagler.

Maybe I should have phrased that better and said around their best, as fighters always have some excuse as to why they lost, but picking a fighters worse showing when talking about a fantasy match up seems kinda odd....I'm gonna be honest. I'm a little confused by your post lol care to explain what exactly you mean?

Duran’s best win above 147 depended on having Davey Moore in front of him. He probably would’ve looked pretty crappy on that night if Benitez were in front of him.

Hearns’ best wins depended on him not getting knocked out, which happened too often.

Leonard probably wouldn’t have beaten Hagler at any point in their careers other than on the night they fought, and plenty of people still think he lost. Leonard at 160 was much worse than at 147.

Throwing Canelo, Lara, Jacobs, and GGG into the mix isn’t gonna be like trying to fit another Cuevas in. Those four all would have potential to beat some or all of the others.

I don’t believe in one off peak versions of fighters. Monteal Duran had Leonard fighting aggressively and moving straight at him. If he had Mayweather or a New Orleans Leonard in front of him, Montreal Duran wouldn’t be a thing.

Duran knows a few tricks but I saw Robbie Simms beat him so I dont think Duran's experience is that big a deal and Canelo has the better stamina, he's built bigger, stronger and he's younger

    Canelo on points
I give him a chance against Leonard. I'm not sold on Leonard as a middleweight.

Tommy was too inconsistent at 160. He could either ace him or survive a decision.

Hagler you can forget. A Hagler win is a forgone conclusion

Duran's the only one he has a shot against.

Hagler v Leonard was pure timing. Leonard even admits Hagler had slowed up some and that’s when he wanted the fight. He’d get outboxed an out slugged by a prime MH, I don’t see that having much of a bearing on the outcome of Canelo v Leonard at middle. That said it’s a hard fight for ginge but he’s got qualities that make this very interesting

The hate on Canelo is real and I understand it, because I’m not a big fan, but damn, I’m almost feeling sorry for him here. If we overlook the fact that he’s juiced to the max, I don’t see why anyone should find it ‘ridiculous’ or ‘unbelievable’ that he’d be a live underdog against all 4. Especially if these fights are happening at 168 or above.

Duran, Hearns and SRL win UD's at 154.
    Hagler TKO Canelo at 160.
