even if the comparing would be fitting better. this is a forum, you can skip topics if you aren`t interested in them. nobody is confronting you with violance to respond if you don`t want to.

if people responding to threads with topics about fighters they don`t like , they are just extremly dumb humans.

for example: i don`t like adrien broner, because his fans in most are literally a reflection of him. thats why i dont follow him, no hate commenting, no trolling.........if people dont like ggg, they have to stop commenting and following him.

these guys can use theirt energy in a more intelligent way

Sergio would have looked really bad admitting his knee was messed up all along, screwing over the fans by repeatedly telling them before that it was fine, then going in there and looking like a cripple.

I agree though that Sergio was overrated. He was a good fighter in a weak division/era, and him being ranked highly on the p4p rankings meant he was being simply overrated or spoke horribly of the talent pool of boxing at the time.

    :patsch

"Your knees are not working right, Sergio"

    "Your knees are not responding."

Martinez wins it by decision in a very exciting fight.

Sergio was very one dimensional but it was a hell of a dimension.

He was athletic and relied in his hand and foot speed plus reflexes. He had very good power and even better timing which made him on of the best counter punchers around in his prime.

Canelo seems multi dimensional but not that great at any one thing. We've seen him pressure Lara and Trout, we've seen him counter punch from range against Angulo and Kirkland. We've seen him have a chess match with Cotto. We've not seen him excel but he always seems to do enough to win, apart from against Floyd.

In this fight Canelo would have to be the front foot because Sergio is massively quicker. The way Floyd kept Canelo honest with counter straight would be troubling against Sergio who was also quicker than Canelo and harder hitting than Floyd.

The one advantage Canelo has is Sergio was an arrogant fighter, would showboat and drop his hands, Canelo seems more methodical than that and might get an opportunity to land a big shot and wobble Sergio.

My gut says Martinez on points.

Prime Sergio was a force to be reckoned with, that said I'm glad people underrate him for the way he ****ed up the whole division on his way out.
