How would Crolla fare in the Super Feather..

A lot of people had Matthews winning, it was close as **** and could have gone either way. If Crolla was as good as you think he is he would take care of Derry easily, but he struggled twice.

Crolla doesn't get going until after five rounds? Watch the first Matthews fight, he started fast.

 

He should definitely move back down to super feather,he seems a little out of his depth at lightweight.I always tipped Crolla to do big things but he just hasn't looked the same fighter at lightweight,Mathews is kind of a gate keeper between British and Euro level and if he can't beat him what chance has he got of beating any of the top boys.

 

He didn't really start fast tbh in the 1st fight. He boxed calmly rounds 1 and 2 to plan. There was 2 factors that had never happened before that made him go to war and rush.......the knockdown and the cut. He was ahead on points and the stoppage was a farce. IMO Derry would have been stopped if it carried on. He was creasing on the ropes after the constant body shots.

I'm not claiming Crolla is some world beater. I believe he is better than any british level lightweight or superfeatherweight.

that inlcudes Derry, Gethin, Coyle, Walsh.

The fights i personally want to see is Crolla vs Rees or Crolla vs Buckland.

I believe both would be wars. 2 genuine 50/50 fights that i believe if on his game he can win either. big ask though.

 

He threw more punches in the first two rounds of the first fight then he did in the first eight rounds of he second.

Buckland would out a beating on Crolla.

 

I just said, he showed derry too much respect and boxed on the back foot in the second fight. If he put his foot on the gas 2 rounds earlier he would have stopped him 11 or 12 i have no doubt in my mind about that.

I believe it would go the other way. Really close fight though, Crolla points.

 

Regardless of who you think won (I had Crolla by a point) you cannot deny that it was close. My point is Derry is quite far past his best, he always struggles in the later rounds and bruises up if he is hit by a strong wind, plus his hands were properly ****ed, yet he still stopped crolla in the first fight and pushed him very close (won in a lot of peoples eyes) in the second. Im a fan of Crolla I think he is a skilled fighter but it was proven in the first fight that he isn't big or strong enough to go to war with a big lightweight like derry and I dont think hes got the power to box off the backfoot and keep them type of opponents of him for 12 rounds. Therefore imo he should move down to s.feather where he wouldn't be at a physical disadvantage.

I'm a fan of Crolla but Buckland has been a revalation ever since winning the prizefighter.

I think he would do Crolla damage over 12 and win a wide points decision.

 

No offence but Crolla v Rees is in no way a 50/50 fight, Rees would destroy him look what he did to Mathews

I really think Crolla would put up a better show than Mathews did. I think it would be a split points win either way with Crolla finishing the stronger. I think Gavin runs out of gas if you take him into the later rounds. John Watson caused him murders, i think people forget that!!! Crolla has great stamina and can defo hurt Rees in the later rounds.

 

Crolla does have good stamina, and Rees does tend to fade a little in the later rounds but he starts so quick and is so relentless, I think Crolla would struggle with the pace and the pressure and would get stopped. As I say I just think hes a natural S feather and would be a lot more comfortable fighting there.

 

i defo agree with you mate about the weight. Crolla doesnt put on any weight after the weigh in so that tells me he belongs at superfeather. He will chase Derry for a 3rd fight though. knowing Crolla he will have to put that right before moving on. All good for the fans though :bbb

Just hope the next fight isn't in liverpool or i'll be wearing my body armour for the fight haha

 

crolla hit his limit winning the lw british title imo ,
as for buckland well that would take years off his boxing life imo

 

i really think people overrate Buckland. Don't get me wrong i think he is a good fighter but he's no world beater. Look what John Murray did to him. He absolutely destroyed him albeit at lightweight. Crolla vs Buckland is without doubt a 50/50 fight at superfeather and i fancy the bookies to have Crolla favourite IMO.

look your boy done good to capture that british title no need for blind faith look at it for what it is.
