Similiar to this era I think, Whyte might beat a contender in Byrd or Brewster on his best day like he did against Parker but he will always always fall short and get battered by the likes of Vitali or Wlad like he did against AJ.
Vitali vs Whyte wouldn't be much of a contest. Whyt has his moments here and there and may even stun Vitali temporarily with something big, but Vitali is in total control by round 6 and landing barrages of shots at will by round 9-10 before it's stopped. Whyte has terrible defense and the ring IQ of a rhino, so he has no means of adjusting or finding a way to turn the fight around and has zero chance of a KO. Wladmir would be even worse as he has a sharper jab, better technique, and hits harder than Vitali. Wladmir could either fight a lame, cautious match and wins a lopsided decision or goes for it and demolishes Whyte in 4-5 rounds. Tua would be a fun brawl, might resemble the Ike or Rahman fights to a degree, but Tua eventually turns his lights out. He's ironically even more technically skilled than Whyte while also obviously possessing the better chin and stamina. Toney makes Whyte look stupid and wins a very easy decision winning probably 9-10 rounds. Byrd would have a rougher time, but probably wins too unless he gets careless. As for Peter, that's a 50/50 fight can go either way. Other potentially winnable fights in the 2000's for Whyte are Chris Arreola, Ruiz, Briggs, Valuev, Povetkin obviously.
agreed with most. But prime Povetkin vs Whyte? Not sure Whyte wins that. I think Povetkin has better defense, better combinations and better skill. Whyte - Brewster would be interesting.
Part of me thinks you should do community service for even making us think of such a thing, that would be a massacre
