Could Curry have put up a fight against some guys like Armstrong, Robinson, Leonard or a few others? Or would he have been easily outclassed?

    What do you think?

I think he would get his a** handed to him if he ever stepped in the ring with the ATG

I believe Curry could hang in there with the ATG's. I remember the streak of welter defenses against Starling, LaRocca, Jones, and McCrory. I thought at the time that he would beat SRL. Hindsight tells me differently....In the Honeyghan fight I think Curry left his fight in the gym. I don't think Curry would beat an ATG, but he would present many problems for them.

Curry was no slouch. He easily knocked off Starling who was suppossed to be pretty good. You need an overpowering offense to beat him (as we saw with Lloyd Honeyghan) or overpowering speed (like Terry Norris)

About a 2 point cake wasn't it? Agreed that Don was the slightly stronger fighter, but don't tell me he won easily. It's simply not the truth.

Starling as passive as usual. Shades of Wilfred Benitez. Curry kicked that ass for 12 rounds.

The fight we are talking about, the rematch, was 15 rounds. Sorry to embarrass you mate.

If you want to talk about the 12 round affair, i'd hardly call a split decision kicking ass, baby.

    Better luck next time

At his best Curry could hold his own with any welter,he looked great against Jones ,his defeats blur the reality of how good he was in his brief prime, when he was talked about as the successor to SRL,and a 50 50 opponent for Hagler.

I agree Curry at his finest could give most anyone a great fight, and indeed beat plenty.
