Could Fitz have won the belt from Willard? And how do do think he does against Dempsey's title challengers? It has been speculated (and rightfully so) that Dempsey avoided Greb...Would he have fought Fitzsimmons?

He might have coldcocked Dempsey, the way Jack liked to rush in combined with the power Fitz possessed. Not a far-fetched idea, actually.

Fitzsimmons is tough to analyze. I can't place him outside his era. And we only have one film of him fighting and he doesn't look very skilled. Granted Corbett was outboxing him, but Corbett doesn't look too skilled for all the talk on him. The other film is of him getting his rear end kicked when he was an old man.

Something tells me Fitz would use that unorthodox mind to make a ****** out of Dempsey

Dempsey would've pulverised him most likely. 8/10 at least.

As a light heavyweight; quite well I imagine.

I think Fitz might actually start favourite.

If Dempsey wants to win, he must hold his head and be patient. If he is will like against Firpo, Fitz catches him and finishes him.

I think Dempsey could win in a limited rounds fight and of course if he does catch Fitz, he will finish him, but his best bet is to box patiently and rely on his size and strength and ensure he doesnt make a mistake. This would be a great fight, imo.

At light heavy, Dempsey is to young, inexperienced and malnourished. Fitz wins easily.

I think Fitz would have taken the Willard Dempsey faced. And he would have been able to beat anyone Dempsey faced in this reign - if he would do si is up for debate. Tunney and Gibbons I think have a very good chance against him. Fitz-Tunney would be a fascinating fight actually. I wonder if Fitz would be able to make Tunney lead, counter him and knock him out or if Tunney outboxes him. Dempsey-Fitz I think Dempsey should be the fav here. His speed, relentlessness and very random headmovement would make him very dangeours for Fitz. On the other hand Fitz can take punishment and still knock his opponent out. I don´t think against someone of Dempsey´s speed and power though. Wills would be an interesting fight too. Can´t asses that one really though.
