dude just stop your talking out the side of your neck now .. for one floyd does not carry the same fear as roy did, fighters actually try to engage floyd becaue they know he has weak hands. fighter feared Roy because he could KO you with ether hand fast .. tow floyd and roys styles are totally different, roy style was built on speed and athleticism. Floyd is a pure boxer who uses his speed only when he needs to but can fight in close or at a distance. Roy on the other hand needed room to get off and once his leg left him so did his defense.. their style are as different as night and day.

Pac frustrate floyd ? the only way pac can frustrate floyd is to out box him and pac sure as hell can not out box floyd , so you can forget that ****..

Again, what are we talking about here?

Are we talking about Hatton's ability to close the distance, or Hatton's ability to win the fight?

Because Hatton did an excellent job at closing the distance, it's just that Floyd managed to nulify everything Hatton did on the inside.

So using common sense, if one fighter is occasionaly getting hit coming in, and another fighter is not being hit at all, logic would say that eventually the fighter getting hit is going to slow down and lose the fight.

I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about this.

My post only had to do with Hatton's ability to close distance.

TONY COULDNT COUNTER SHANE EVERYTIME HE LET HIS HANDS GO GO MAN...THATS WHY HE WAS CONSISTENTLY THROWING PUNCHES... ..PLUS SHANE WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE TEMPO OF THAT FIGHT BY GETTING IN AND GETTING OUT THUS THE STATEMENT MADE BY NASEEM "SWIM WITHOUT GETTIN WET"...HE WAS ALSO LANDING VERY WIDE LOOPING PUNCHES WHICH HIT TONY BUT MISSED FLOYD ( ASIDE FROM THE 2ND PUNCH THAT CAUGHT FLOYD) CUZ TONY DOESNT KNOW HOW TO SLIP A PUNCH NOR CATCH ONE..NOR DOES HE KNOW HOW TO TECHNICALLY FIGHT WHEN HURT:good FLOYD KNOWS HOW TO DO THESE THINGS AND "DRILLS" THEM IN CAMP

I don't know WTF you're talking about here because you're not making any sense.

You say, what does footwork matter, then you go on to say that Pac will get hit with punches on the way in.

What do you think Pac uses to get inside? Does he walk on his hands?

Pac knows what to do when and more importantly IF he gets inside. That is when he's dangerous.

The problem is, Pac will not be able to get to Floyd, which has everything to do with each fighter's footwork, in addition to Floyd's accurate punching.

Another Floyd hater posting an idiotic thread. I didnt see any indication of Floyd losing his foot speed or anything else

Are you ****ing kidding me, how long have been watching boxing ? fighter like duran , orlando canazalez and even floyd are aggressive fighters and I have never seen them run into every freaking punch the way hatton does .. Floyd could have closed his eyes and just swung and hit hatton, that just how open he was . He did the same thing against pac and got laid out .. hatton is legitimate face first fighter...

who say floyd will fight pac the same way he fought hatton ? or have you not notice he fights every fighter different..

    :patsch

Pac won't close the distance like Hatton did because it's not his style to simply walk forward and try to maul you. Even in Hatton trying to do that, you also notice that he was unable to mount an offense.

Just because a fighter is making contact with Mayweather, doesn't mean it's effective. Manny will not be able to hit Floyd without selling out.. He'll come in, he'll get hit, and he'll quit (Mosley), or he'll keep coming in and get knocked out (Hatton).

You need to have real boxing skills to even **** with Floyd. I don't question Pac's hunger to win, but he's so deficient fundamentally that I don't see this fight being any more competitive then the Mosley fight. Add that to Floyd's size advantage, Pac is on retreat before the end of the first half, stopped in the 2nd half

    Whoa...

When did I say Hatton was on Par with Duran?

 at this guy putting words in my mouth.

Hatton is not as elusive as Duran, but he is fleetfooted, and he has an underated jab.

His ability to close distance is better than people here advertise, DEPENDING on his opponent of course.

Against Mayweather, he consistantly closed distance and managed to get right next to Mayweather. It's just that Mayweather managed to nulify Hatton's offense, which prevented him from being in the fight.

If Hatton did manage to utilze a successful body attack, he may have managed to slow Floyd down. Obviously, credit to Floyd, that did not happen.

My point is, Hatton managed to close distance. How is this debateable? I can watch the fight on Youtube, and I have two eyes.

    WTF is wrong with you?

Pac gets to his opponents by throwing lunging punches. First of all thats horrible techinique. Fortunately for him, his speed and athleticism allows him to get away with what most fighters could not. I want to see him try to lunge in against Floyd and we'll see how fast he gets countered.

Before you say some dumb ****, maybe you oughta read my entire post where I said that Pac wouldn't be able to cloe the distance.

I don't think Pac can beat Floyd.

And in regards to Pac again, IF he manage to CLOSE the distance, which is a HUGE if, YES I do think he would be able to utilize his offense much more effectively than Hatton.

Fact is, for the 10th ****in time, I don't think he can close the distance effectively; therefore, he'll never be in a position to hit Floyd.

The Margarito fight was a year and half ago, a lifetime ago for an older fighter. Don't make it sound like Floyd did something incredible that no ther fighter can do or could capitalize on. He did what most fighters are taught and that is hold on. Stepping back, no it seemed as if he had trouble pulling the trigger again. Yeah Floyd held on, and it was not his "tremendous unique ability" to do this that saved him, but the inability of Shane to let his hands go.

I honestly think should Pacquiao face Floyd, we would see the Manny from the 2nd Barrera fight or the Diaz fight: Much more boxing than freak bumrushing. He's been doing it and it looks good because he hasn't fought a defensively proficient fighter since Marquez. He tried to open the rematch that way, and got poleaxed with a magnificent counter in the 2nd. He fought the rest of the fight somewhat more cautiously, timed his bursts and threw more jabs than usual, and squeaked a win(that should have gone the other way.)

I doubt we see a Mayweather-Hatton. I believe it will look a lot more like Mayweather-Marquez, perhaps more competitive. Pacquiao isn't stupid and he doesnt have a stupid corner. I believe after a round or two of hard counters, he'll try something else.

In summary, his awkward angles and turning won't much matter. His speed will be his chance to win, in and out, and it won't work.
