In terms of the full pro package Floyd is goat bar none for me. Although I don't think he is the best boxer of his generation.

2 boxers who's pure abilities rate higher in my opinion would be toney and Whittaker. Case can be made for a few others like Marquez for example, Floyd did beat Marquez but Marquez isn't physically equipped to handle Floyd.
    I'm not counting physical abilities.

Can you just f**king imagine Floyd being able to stay upright for 6 rounds against Tommy Hearns??? I can't either. And either Sugar Ray bust him up and stops him late or a WIDE UD. Lets be serious here

Floyd may be a shade quicker with his hands than Benitez but I don`t necessarily disagree with you

Fully agree. Hearns was a combination of speed, power and ranginess that would obliterate PBF. And while I'm not a huge Leonard fan, the man could do it all. And if Floyd had a spot of bother with Maidana, can you imagine what Duran wold do to him? Car accident.

No doubt about it. Hearns right hand would scramble little Floyds brains WAY, WAY worse than Shanes did. And if Hearns could find Ray Leonard... he sure as f**k could find Floyd

And that's what a great many fight fans from this generation don't realize, The actual height and size of the best welters of that era were, Leonard 5'10,Benitez 5'10, Curry5'10, Hearns 6'1 all of those fighters trained hard to come down to the welter limit, and usually were at their very best when they reached it. Mayweather is a natural jr.lightweight (main reason with such a great skill set and technique. He still wasnt knocking welter and above fighters out. Other then a cheap shot lol). Now imagine what a welter naturally bigger then him, with the same skill level,or better because they fought much better competition would do to him. Imagine what R.Robinson at 5'11 who is just as fast (if not faster) with better skill level, and most would tell you hit like a middleweight or light heavy would do to him. They may charge him with homicide after it was over.

Mayweather wouldn't last fighting every month against prime quality contenders.

Either that or I recognize that far lessser fighters that Mayweather went 6 rounds with Hearns and that Mayweather was one of the greatest defensive fighters of all time. One or the other.

Yup , I cant see Floyd beating Hearns or Leonard .

I honestly cant see him lasting more than 2 rnds with Hearns . I really cant . Hitman slaughters him the second he connects .

SRL beats him down and stops him in 9 .

But I can see a scenario where Floyd outpoints Duran .

But... Easier said than done and I could be proven wrong .
