yeah Pryor is a terrible terrible style match up for Floyd. Floyd isn't winning rounds against that guy ... he might win a few rounds against Hearns if he can extend it to the middle somehow. (Pryor did beat Hearns in the ams, but that was a different game before he learned to decapitate people with the right hand).

Pryor is a head to head nightmare. He was winning his loss pretty handily in my opinion and got caught, stood up, and I think the stoppage was a bit premature, but amidst all his other problems it definitely was a result of physical decline. Endless stamina, quick hands, power, broken rhythm, movement, endless angles ... I can't see Floyd stopping that onslaught. His small size is his weakest feature. One of the hardest nonconventional styles to face, ever. Any boxer who needs space gets screwed over by him in his prime. I think a huge one shot puncher has the biggest chance of beating Pryor.

So why was Bernard Hopkins Light Heavyweight champ at the age of 49 until recently? Why hasn't the recent generation dethroned Mayweather, Klitschko, Pacquiao yet?

Though not addressed to me, I think the easy ascension to title shots and the creation of media champs has produced an "unearned" generation who neither perfect their technique with increasing challenges coupled with a decrease in popularity in boxing which keeps truly athletic people looking for safer pay days after seeing what has happened to so many ATGs like Ali. Pac came up the hard way for sure. The stars under 30 ... probably not so much. More "modern training" and conditioning, less basic survival technique.

    Floyd's best is 130-140

    Moseley is a killer there
    Duran is a killer there
    And then you have pacquiao

Floyd In His prime gives them all a great fight though

At 147 he's dead against the greats

Leonard hearns or Robinson murder him

Paul Williams would have killed him if he wasn't a coward

Then why have some of the best fighters of this generation used techniques used by past fighters? Hopkins is an old-school fighter, and has beaten men half his age with them. Floyd and Toney, two of the greatest defensive fighters ever, use the Philly Shell, an old school technique. Golovkin and Kovalev both use the old-school technique of shifting.

If these great modern fighters are so much better, why do they use techniques from the past?
