He would have done well, but 147 would have been a tough road to hoe. I still think he would have been well respected, but there would have been some serious road wear on him. At the same time? There would have been no criticism for him losing a few fights there.

I can see him handling the top pressure guys, except for Duran. I can see him out pointing the lesser Pure Boxers. He would have his hands full with SRL, Hearns, and Duran. All have the tools to beat and even spark him, but I can't completely count him out to Box his way to decisions.

140? He would still be legendary, but he barely fought there so who knows if weight was a big issue.

Right you moron. The fact that all those guys work for Bob Arum who can't get a Golden Boy fight done to save his life has nothing to do with him not fighting those guys. Also, you can't even honestly say any of those guys stood the SLIGHTEST chance of beating Mayweather.

Reason #8080 why *******s aren't to be respected.

for these guys to say whay floyd would do against leonard, hearns, duran, benetiz ect when his resume looks like this at 140-147

140 career, 3 fights...bring on arquello and pryor
DeMarcus Corley who had lost his previous fight before floyd picked him

Gatti- like floyd started at 130 , was entering his 15th year as a pro, worn and 46th fight out of 49

    welterweight career

    This content is protected

Zab- most dangerous, but most overrated...another guy coming off a loss to a 9 loss fighter
    This content is protected

Ricky Hatton career 140 pounder...got his ass kicked in only welter fight that they gave him...
    This content is protected

Shane Mosley- nearly 39 and oldest guy ever to win welterweight title...

from 2004-2011 thats money mayweathers resume...:yep

    a) where are the guys who are in their prime?
    b) wheres cotto?
    c) wheres margarito?
    d) wheres paul williams?
    e) wheres pacman?
forrest was always around at 140-147, 154 , never in a million years that was gonna happen

    other notables
cintron, while not to be ranked up with the above mentioned, at least young and in prime when holding a title
Berto has had 7 welterweight title fights starting in 2008...another prime guy....

He's having troubles facing Pacquiao who's less greater than them. Do you really think he'd have the courage to fight a prime Leonard, prime Hearns, and/or a motivated Duran? I like Floyd as a fighter but many people here overrate him in fantasy matchups. What has he shown in his career to suggest that he would beat them? He gets caught cold like he did against Mosley and Hearns & Leonard would've finished him.

Oh hell yeah! I watched Floyd Sr. Kick Leonards ass for 8.5 rounds until he caught and TKO'd in the 10th! Angelo Dundee was so paranoid and scared Leonard was going down he was chewing on his towel like Tark! Than Ray found the opening and TKO'd him against the ropes. Ray took a lot of blows that night and a lot of big shots in the body and face. Floyd Jr. has a whole lot more skill than Sr. who was the 5th ranked WW in the world than.Floyd uses the ring and wins a decision everyday of the week.

Floyd would no doubt hold more than his own against them, the way he has beat some of the top guys; i.e Marquez when he was considered the p4p 2nd best during Floyds retirement stint; Floyd totally outclassed him for every minute of every round like no other mother****er has done to Marquez!

I can see Floyd being a champ at 140.

At 147,he would most likely get stopped just like any other 147 pounder fighting today.

You talk about how he got caught by Mosely with one big shot! That's funny because Corley and Augustus delivered bigger shots to Floyd. But I guess you have to actually watch the fights.

As an ironic twist of what he barked at Ray Leonard regarding he (Leonard) wouldn't be in the top ten in his (Floyd's) era, Floyd may crack the top 10, but you can forget him fighting, much less beating, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, and company...

I think he'd have enough trouble with the forgotten (or less mentioned) fighters of those divisions such as Brown, Curry, Starling, Breland, Davis, and others I could mention...

He could very well lose to that second wave of fighters mentioned...

...and :rofl at "big george"... :patsch

Beats Saul Mamby Aaron Pryor and Julio Cesar Chavez at 140.
Beats Jose "Pipino" Cuevas Roberto Duran, Donald Curry, Lloyd Honeyghan, Jorge Vaca and Marlon Starling at 147.
Losses to "Sugar" Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns.

It's funny everyone of that last tier of fighter you mentioned I've seen fight live at least 5 x's and I disagree 150%! I say that's the case with Pac. Breland or Starling would clean Pacs clock. But Floyd they would've been KO statistics.

I just mentioned those guys to provide some more opposition that Floyd would have to think about... He may very well lose to all those mentioned, but he may win as well.

He's got the best chance against Starling and Breland, but I still wouldn't count them out...
