Louis two fisted assault handspeed punching ability combinatinos would be way to much for joe to handle. joe would take horrible punishment trying to get inside on louis.

listons track record against quality opponents? I thought liston cleaned out the best of his era pretty easily? as for joe frazier, his track record against opponents similiar in size power and style to liston(george foreman) is putrid. I think this fight is a clear liston win. Listons would manhandle frazier on the inside with his strength and uppercuts, his jab would make frazier not even want to come in. Liston would batter frazier at short and long range, and frazier will not be able to take listons bombs.

holy loved to brawl. he simply cant brawl and outwork joe frazier, no chance. 5'7 qawi sent holy to the hospital, evanders only 15 rounder. he barely survived that. Holy showed big laspes of getting tired in some of his major fights, due to steroids or something........when he gets tired vs frazier, frazier will be all over him giving him no room to breathe, evander will get battered. Holy will outbox frazier and get in his fair shots, but his amazing heart will get to him...it will cause him to brawl and frazier will outwork him down the stretch and the left hook will land hope stopping holy late.

Frazier was in a whole different class than many of the men who floored or beat Louis like Buddy Baer, Tony Galento, James Braddock, or Max Schmeling.

P.S. Please don't try and pull your usual crap of saying that he slipped against this one, or wasn't motivated for that one, or wasn't in his prime against what's his face, etc. This stuff gets old after a while. Frazier fought in a more competitive era, and had the right style to trouble Louis, who even admitted that he didn't like fighters who crowded him. Had he fought Frazier, he would have felt like he was fighting in a public toilet stall.

He fought during a transitional period in the heavyweight division, in which the comp was rather weak. Frazier defeated Muhammad Ali who twice beat Liston. He defeated Ellis, Quarry, Bonavena and a **** load of others. Cleveland Steamer was not my idea of a great representation of a great era.

This is precious:lol: How in the hell is Joe Frazier similar in size to George Foreman, and how does your plural " opponent(

    .
As is every other fight involving Liston in your book. I'll bet you think that if Liston had fought Ali in 1962 rather than 1964, he would have won right?

    A few points of interest.

    1. The only man who ever manhandled Frazier was George Foreman who

    A. Fought a style that was very dissimmilar to that of Liston's.

    B. Had strength to lift him off the canvas which Liston Didn't.

    C. Could not keep Frazier down, despite the fact that he was kicking the crap out of him - something that in all likelihood would have scared the **** out of Liston, who wasn't used to fighting men who could fight back....

5'7" Qawi, was a world champion, fighting a prospect with 11 pro fights and who was barely two years into his career, yet he still lost. Of course, these things don't stop you from giving Liston a pass for losing to a journeyman and having his jaw broken in the process, then later picking him to beat all time greats like say........Joe Frazier......

How many times did Frazier go 15 rounds? Twice?

But he somehow managed to battle it out for a combined 48 rounds with both Lennox Lewis and Riddick Bowe - Two fighters that I would pick to beat Joe Frazier by stoppage or KO. He slugged it out for 10 rounds in a high paced fight with a very game Michael Dokes, in one of the best heavyweight fights in history. He defeated Mike Tyson twice. As long as Evnader's health was ok, his stamina held up pretty well.

No he won't. The more obvious scenario is Frazier tries to maul Holyfield and is met with strength and persistance on the inside that he can't possibly deal with.

A possibility, but here's what I think may happen.

Futch stops this fight somewhere between rounds 11 and 12, after wiping Joe's face off profusely with bloodied towels.

A shot eddie machen beat quarry..... a way over the hill patterson was robbed vs ellis, and zora folley easily shutout oscar bonavena . listons era of contenders were better than the ones of late 1960s. Hell folley machen williams patterson liston were still major players during fraziers late 1960s era depite being way over the hill Congrats on the ali win, but that was not the 60s ali in there, and liston was a different style than ali. I agree frazier beats holmes.

re-read. its comparing foreman and liston, not frazier

in terms of style, yes. but in terms of size punching power and strength they were the same. difference is liston was BETTER than foreman.

frazier doesnt stand a chance against louis. open up a new thread if ud like. Frazier has to come in on louis to beat him......The greatest puncher of all time is going to unleash the greatest pinpoint punches and combinations ever thrown and frazier is going to be a bloody beaten mess....it will be a massacre.

liston was on the decline since winning the title in 62..by the patterson rematch in 63 he was softer older and had been enjoying party life and developing ring rust. Lets face it look what foreman who is nowhere near listons skill level did to frazier. frazier doesnt match up well with ATG sluggers.

liston was just as/or nearly strong as foreman. certainly far stronger than frazier.

but whos punching power strength UPPERCUTS are on level with listons

tell that to cleveland williams who was much bigger than frazier. he fought back breaking listons nose and stunning him. what was listons response? beat the **** out of him the next round. Williams kept getting up from listons bombs, so did roy harris, so did zora folley. what was listons response? keep pulverizing them.

"If I had one weak spot anywhere, in my body, my chin, or my heart, it would've shown up with all the whuppin he put on me in the first round."- Sonny Liston

he still got the TKO which is exactley what liston would do to frazier

Kind of like ATG joe frazier getting knocked down twice nearly out in round 1 and getting a gift on the scorecards against the MURDEROUS oscar bonavena? LOL

or how bout frazier getting floored by michael bruce

or frazier's ability to avoid big punchers his whole career like Mac Foster( 3 years in a row rated top 5 by ring magazine), SONNY LISTON:)lol: even fraziers camp didnt want any part of a 40 year old man), earnie shavers, ron lyle, etc etc.

Once in the biggest fight of all time. evander huffed and puffed going 12. Juicing gave him no stamina

steroid strength? maybe but evander wont match fraziers workrate

NewsFlash: he went 1-4 vs bowe and lennox.

Michael Coke Dokes? he was 10 years past his prime

tyson of 96 doesnt even compare to a peak joe frazier. tyson was practically washed up, mentally ****ed, rusted, by 1996. he was a predictable head hunter by 1996.

 The only blood on fraziers face will be from illegal evander headbutts. Frazier is going to breakdown evander the juicer. evander gets tired everytime he gets in heated brawls.

People are being unfair to both Liston and Frazier, here. They were both top 10 ATG great HW's, but Liston beats Frazier head to head. Liston is in the top 5 most dangerous head to head heavyweights of all time.

I must say I'm surprised that so many picked Holmes to beat Frazier. Would he really do that much better than the version of Ali Frazier beat in FOTC? That wasn't Ali in his prime, but he still had plenty left.

I'm also a bit surprised that only one here thinks Frazier would beat Louis. Louis might well KO him early, but I also think a case can be made that Frazier's pressure would be too much for Louis. The man himself said reportedly that he had difficulties against swarmers, and they don't come more swarming in HW than a prime Frazier.

Dempsey - Frazier is favourite. Dempsey could blow him up early though.

Tunney - Horrible fight to call. I will pick Frazier to stop Tunney in 14 or 15 rounds, but it's 50.50 as far as I can see.

    Louis - Louis, KO2 OR KO3 in a thriller.

    Marciano - Frazier on cuts.

    Liston - Liston, early

    Holmes - Frazier on points.

    Tyson - Tyson, early

Holyfield - Frazier, outworks Hollyfield for a decison. Off the canvas to win.

Lewis - Frazier by a late knockout.
