I'd guess what CST said, however it's just a guess. We should know more by the time the WBSS finishes
Gassiev would have made it a fun fun with his chin and power and would have had his moments. But MB would have outboxed him to a UD. Dorticos would have been on his back or face within 7 rounds after being comfortably outboxed.
I always thought it was between Gassiev and Briedis who's best of the rest, and was leaning towards Gassiev lately. After this weekend I'm going with Briedis now, but we'll have to wait and see.
Weird thing about the tournament ranking system is that instead of #1 fighting the #4 ranked, and the #2 fights the #3, they actually paired #1 and #3 and #2 and #4, which technically makes it harder for higher rated fighters.
Gassiev would've broken Briedis in half and Dorticos knocks him out late. I like Usyk as much as the next person and think he's the best in the division, but Briedis was extremely overrated. The only reason Briedis went the distance with Usyk is because Usyk has very limited power.
Bredis is a good fighter, and fought well but he clearly LOST this weekend. Lets slow down the hall-of fame talk for a little while.
Yeah I imagine the success Breidis has would be similar to the kind Lebedev had(an older Lebedev for that matter) but it would be enough to win a close but clear decision. 116-112 territory.
The main reason that Gassiev won't win the final is that he is too young. He has tons of time to improve and loosing against Usyk would make him even better in the future.
