Everyone is refferring to the Jones-Lacy fight as evidence that the old roy is back. How many round would lacy last with green?
Lacy was awful, and RJJ has been less than complimentary about Lacy's performance when asked about it.
I said on the day I thought that Green would have KO'd Lacy quicker, but I don't think we should use this to underestimate Roy. That being said C'mon Danny!
Lacy is shot, i think Danny would have roughed him up pretty good, i think RJJ could have dispatched Lacy earlier but he wanted to prove he could go the 12 against a rated opponent
The Lacy prior to Joes beatdown wasnt all that good and remember stating it a few times. Sheika and Reid even though they both lost to Lacy were tapping his ass at stages in their fight. Lacy walked through a fire storm against Reid. He had a chin and some power but couldnt box for **** and couldnt deliver his power shots all that well. I reckon Joe knew very early on when Jeffs name was tossed around for a fight he would win easily. God knows why i picked Lacy to beat Joe back then :-( Imo I think Green has always been better than Lacy
nah mate, Calzaghe admits in his book that he was shitting himself leading up the Lacy fight - it was his father who knew he could beat him and eventually convinced him.
