He's clearly a huge super, and a move up to light heavy is on the cards because making weight gets harder as you get older/close to clearing out the division etc. How would he fare @ LHW?
Gassed already at SMW, when he's getting body punched at 175 it will be even worse. Listen Groves has been in too many wars now to consider that. Brutal KO to Froch, brutal fights with Chudinov and Jack, an impending annihilation at the hands of Eubank... He probably has only three fights left max if he actually manages to win on Saturday. That fight alone is going to take a hell of a lot out of him.
Gassing at super middle, whilst being a HUGE super middle, is indication that he'd be better suited to move up.
He's simply not fresh enough to move up now IMO. Had he avoided a few of the brutal fights I mentioned then yes he would be suited to the weight. Jack brutalised him with body punches at 168, would do the same at 175. Kovalev, Bivol, Gvozdyk, Beterbiev all knock him out comfortably.
He won't be moving anywhere, he's only got 3 or 4 fights left tops. If he loses to Eubank or Smith then he will retire in any case.
its rumoured the LHW will be in the next season of WBSS. So IF, Groves wins the SM one, surely he's a shoe-in to take part in the LHW one.
