How would Hrgovic fare against Joyce?

I think he would win several rounds but lose a UD. Maybe like 117-111 or 116-112. Hrgovic actually boxes pretty well on the backfoot, and his stamina is no issue at all, despite not having the engine of Joyce.

 

Hrgovic was the bogeyman of divison being ducked by a lot of guys. That said, it was a dissapointing peformance against Zhang that in opinion just edged. Zhang had him hurt at time, backed Hrgovic up at times and Hrgoivc was very wary of Xhamgs power.

I think Joyce walks him down and out works Hrgovic and it will be a similar to the Parker fight.

If anyone hasn't seen the WSB Joyce vs Hrgovic fight, I recommend it as its very entertaining closely fought fight that Joyce wins ( Joyce actually quick footwork back then lol).

 

Hrgović loses to Joyce in the edition against Zhang. Joyce is more proven than Hrgović (Parker and Daniel Dubois). Joyce already has one former world champion on his resume, and Hrgović is currently far from that.
Of the 3 Olympic medals from Rio 2016 (Yoka, Joyce, Hrgović), Joyce performed best in professional boxing. It is now seen that the gold medal was received by Yoko in a controversial way.
Joyce wins; an even better chin than Hrgović.

Hrgovic is starting to get underrated. He is bigger and stronger than Parker. Better stamina too. Great chin. Say Parker won 2 rounds tops Hrgovic might win more than 6 rounds and not lose by KO.

Joyce and Hrgovic would be a much closer fight imho.

 

It turned out that Hrgovic was too overrated, but actually almost pathetic. He'll do 5-6 rounds at best against Joyce before being brain damaged.

 

Based on their WSB fight it's sure to be action packed and competitive.

Looking at that fight, it's clear Joyce had no problem landing his jab against Hrgovic who's lack of head movement made him an easy target for Joyce's heavy jab.

It also was pretty apparent that Joyce had no respect for Hrgovic's power, walking him down and pressing throughout. Hrgovic landed some big punches and Joyce just kept plowing forward.

Hrgovic also seemed to struggle with the pace in the later rounds and one has to think in a 12 rounds fight Hrgovic might very well get ground down and stopped. Yes Hrgovic had no problem with going 12 rounds with Zhang, but Zhang isn't known for his stamina and didn't exactly set a high pace, Joyce would be a very different fight for Hrgovic where he'd be constantly under pressure.

 

Hrgovic scraped a win vs 39 year old Zhang, and he was lucky to get that win.

He'd get murdered vs Joyce. Literally murdered. He's not KOing him, and he's not outboxing him.

Joyce by TKO late I reckon.

 

Mentality is what made Joe explode like a nova, and drowned Filip. Hopefully he can get his heart back in the game after his father's death.

I would pick Joyce by mid round stoppage based on Hrgovics latest fight. To be perfectly honest Zhang won that fight, and I'm surprised the ref didn't stop it.
