How would Joe Louis have done in the 90's era?

Say Joe Louis hit his Prime around the early 90's-mid 90's

Who could he have beaten? Who would have beaten him?

I think Lennox would have beaten Joe Louis something awful.

    Young Lennox and Prime Lennox.

I think Joe Louis will finish as the 5th best heavyweight of the 90's.

He would lose multiple times and be knocked out twice by Lewis.

    Lewis
    Holyfield
    Bowe
    90's Tyson
    Joe Louis

It depends when he hits his prime and when he comes along, in reality he also likely bulks up a little and is more powerful but I'd use the 200lb version for the sake of not going too sci-fi

Prime Early 90s Holy beats him imo - much better movement and footwork, stronger, technically his match and too much pressure

Early 90s Tyson beats him as does post prison version up until the '99 version - far better footwork and more skilled, plus a bigger puncher in my view

A Lennox fight could go either way, both could knock the other out, I'd lean towards Lennox landing his right hand and knocking Joe out

Bowe against Louis would be a war, Louis better technique in his punches perhaps, Bowe much bigger/stronger and a much better chin, you'd think that may see him outbrawl Louis

BUT a 220lb ripped Louis does better against all......and no offense to Louis the 90s was the best HW era ever for talent

Yeah because Joe Louis never demolished guys of Lennox's size. Joe had probably more power, speed, technical skills that Lewis. Joe would defeat pretty much every 90s fighter. The one who'd cause him the most trouble would likely be late 80s tyson before buster douglas, mainly due to the speed factor. 90's tyson walked in and threw 1 shot ko punches, and he didn't have the chin to absorb the power of louis. You are failing to understand that Louis had better endurance, better records, competed in a better era and beat similar or better fighters than your entire list. The only fighter who realistically has a chance of beating Lewis is Ali by decision and possibly Mike Tyson a prime 86-89 tyson by an early ko as Louis was ko once in his prime by schelming who he came back to ko in round 1. So even at that Louis would still win the series against Mike.

Louis held the title for 11 years and no one could beat him and he fought moreoften than any of those guys. Louis was so battle hardend that I'd wager even a 35 year old Louis could whip all there ****** asses

Yeah because Tyson who eats uppercuts is considered the textbook of boxing. It is safe to say you likely know very little about Joe Louis or that era of boxing. Louis knocked out more people, but Tyson is a bigger puncher :nut

Holyfield is stronger than Joe Louis when the criticism of him is his punches are pittypat, that is why Foreman was able to endure an onslaught from him which included multiple elbows to the head, and numerous other fighters as well. Right holyfield and tyson have better footwork because they jump around more :nutcase but Lewis who uses passive footwork by making you walk into his line of punching has worst footwork because he is smart enough to make the guy jumping around walk right into powershots.

None of the punchers on that list have the ability to endure on onslaught from louis, if louis hit them it'd be goodnight.

Holyfield is getting dropped by lightheavyweights, lennox by guys who are not known for being big punchers, tyson by buste douglas, but the biggest, hardest, fastest puncher with both hands in history will not be able to knockout any of them :nut

Either you are a troll or you know nil of joe louis

Louis was the greatest power punching combination puncher that ever lived, he would beat them all...prime for prime, Louis beat all sizes colors and styles

Obviously he would be sharing an era with other great fighters, and that throws into question whether he could have enjoyed the same level of dominance, especialy given that his prime would not always coincide with theirs.

For example, he might have been able to beat Lennox Lewis at his best, but would a 34-37 year old Louis beat Lewis at the same age?

He would have been the most consistent great fighter of that era, and that would undoubtedly have weighed in his favour.

I know Louis got ko'd by a a light heavy and lost most of the fight to a 167lb Conn. He's also quite easy to hit with right hands, he had slowing plodding footwork, knocked down more than most HW champs, fought in a generally weak era, which is why he has more KOs. He's a great heavyweight, a great puncher but a flawed one

Your post is confused, strength and punching power are not the same thing in case you didn't know

I think you'll likely be banned for your white supremacy post in the lounge shortly anyway. Do you neo-nazis plan raids on this place or something as there seems to be allot of you on ESB

I think I pulled my credulity reading that line. Hopefully it heals up by Mass time.

Do you want to rethink that statement?
