Why does everyone think hittable Bowe wins? He never faced a puncher like Louis.

Because Louis is equally as hittable, Bowe has an iron chin, is the best puncher Louis faced, athletic, fast hands, great infighter and huge

Bowe would eat Louis for breakfast. Would be a one-sided mismatch.

Nobody could slay bigger fighter as well as Louis, every single 200lbs+ he faced he KO'd, Bowe had a very leaky defense, his chin wasn't very top certainly not iron and his ability to get dragged into infighting slugfests wouldn't bode well against the faster, more precise and concussive power of Louis. A zombiefied Holyfield who was reeling from getting decked nearly KO'd Bowe. If Bowe fought like Lewis and effectivley used his natural advantages like reach and height then I'd favour him, but he doesn't.

    Because newer+bigger=better. Simple math.

In reality of course Bowe would be dragged into a brawl hurt Louis who would get up and beat the sh*t out of Bowe. Can´t see Bowe with such an open defence to survive Louis combinations for long. Especially since he would be right there in Louis face. Louis was faster and a better combination puncher by quite a bit.

I could drive a semi through the new ******* that Louis would tear for Bowe. A stylistic nightmare for Bowe if there ever was one.

The KO was really a thing of beauty.
    two jabs
    Uppercut
    followed up by 3 shots

    Beautiful finish.

Explain. Other than hand speed and power, what does Louis have for Bowe? He's right in front of him. Louis would have to try to walk down Bowe. How is he going to deal with the jab and the right hand?

Louis was equally hittable? Someone start watching Louis fight. One of the best defensive hwts we have ever had. He could do it all. Master of parrying, slipping and countering...all pinpoint accurate, trip hammer quick, combinations to this day unequaled in any division all with ko power in each fist. Anyone trying to say Bowe s better than Louis in any way needs to understand they have no idea what they are talking about. Like Ali and Dempsey, Louis was a once in a lifetime talent.

Louis definitely defeated men of incredible size, some of whom were as large or larger than many modern day heavys. But in all honesty, I don't know that I see Primo Carnera or Buddy Baer as the equivalents of Riddick Bowe, Lennox Lewis or the Klitschko's. While Baer and Carnera were giant men with talent to some degree, they were missing certain key pieces to the puzzle of being a complete all around fighter.

    Louis was an excellent counterpuncher.

In an era of gigantic hitters at heavyweight, Bowe navigated the waters very carefully. I think there was a real reason for that. In the end, a porous defense and lack of durability were his hallmarks. Golota, an overrated puncher, beat him around the ring and ended his career. What Louis would do to him is just downright scary.
