He'd BE the Best L-HW cum CW boxing has ever seen...

because TODAY 6'1" guys are fighting as low as MW & finishing off at L-HW, because they've got a million years between fights in order to do so.

so Joe Louis and fighters from the past would do exactly the same as todays men... Joe Louis would be the GREATEST L-HW Champion ever!!!

Joe's best punches were straight punches he would get close and his punches like moving piston rods he would tee off..His single punches would his opponent surprise cause he liked to counter punch his hand speed was phenomenal for a heavy.
His opponent would start a left hook and wham like a trip hammer Joe would slip in a paralyzing straight right.crisp, clean with pin point accuracy just dumping them on their rear..
People look at film of him and say "See how boxing technique improved over Dempsey's time he's using techniques that weren't around 20 years before"
That's not true Joe's using techniques taught by Jack Blackburn who learned them in the 1900"s
The only technique that improved was camera technology your seeing real time video
People say Louis had a glass jaw couldn't take a punch I think he could take one cause he always got up. and manage to win .i think its his stance why he got knocked down so much

Were Joe Louis in his prime fighting today the big mastodons posing as heavyweights, well it wouldn't be fair... His tremendous handspeed. coordination and trip hammer punching would say goodnight to the
HWs of this era...BIGGER doesn't mean BETTER... What nature gives in HEFT
she takes away in dexterity, speed and stamina.. Louis of the Max Baer fight
would have beaten anyone after, and you can take this to the bank...

He's the greatest fighter of all time so I think he would beat everybody around today and in any era

Wlad would be a tough fight. Louis never came close to fighting a skilled powerful intelligent ATG super heavyweight before...Louis will find a way because he's the greatest fighter of all time

I guess he would be a bit different with modern training, bigger and stronger. Perhaps slower? Not sure if he would have been better, I mean, he was so outstanding in his own era that its hard to imagine an other era suiting him better.

Regardless of the training though Im sure he would do fine. A talent like him should prosper in any era. Fighters are bigger now and that must count for something, but watching Joe Louis fight I can't for the life of me come up with a fighter that looks better or even equal to him.

He would dominate. Very few understand how great a technical fighter Louis was. None greater in the hwt division by several miles.

This is how I see it. Modern equipment would not favor Louis. Either. Joe fought with 6oz gloves, which today would not happen.

Modern heavies fight with 12-16 ounce gloves. Louis depended on speed to generate power, so I think his punching power would be a bit less today.

_uck sake he'd be a L-HW, why do you place him into today, yet make no consideration that he wouldn't do the same as men today... he's NOT big enough to fight at S-HW which is what today's HWS are...

Louis would do the same as all the other men under 6'3" and that is fight below their natural weight.

he'd be a L-HW today just like all the other fighters too small for today's HWs (S-HWS).

The only way Louis could have made light heavyweight, would have been by cutting a limb off.

Cruiserweight admittedly would have been possible, but the best cruisers always try their luck against the big boys, sooner or later.

Why would you say that Joe beat plenty of big guys who fighting in this day and
age would be considered skilled powerful intelligent ATG super heavyweight s
Also Louis cause of WW2 was unable to fight during his prime years between 1942-1946 i think only one fight during that time ..Which who knows how much greater his record in hind sight would be maybe 30 defenses. Also those would have been money making years for him

Louis depended on speed to beat an opponent to the punch
its his punching technique that made them paralyzing Joe got everything into his punches ...His jab was like most guys right hand wallops ..It was a stunning blow

Joe Louis was the greatest fighter in one of the greatest era's for heavyweights. The heavyweight division now days is the worst in the history of the sport. The size of the fighters now days is irrelevant because Louis fought fighters just as big with ease. Joe Louis would make the Klitschko's look like Primo Carnera if not worse.

In the post Lewis era he cleans house and reigns long and unbeaten.

Only Vitali could have troubled him. He blows his way through year after year taking minimal damage.

Could be looking at a 15 year long reign. Especially given the fact modern champs only fight twice a year.
