How would Khan fare against Romanov, in a couple of months, do you think?

No way Warren will let Khan in the ring with Romanov after that performance.
Romanov was in full control from the first bell and only got caught with two punches. He looked really good and would give Khan a real tough test.

If this fight pulled off it would defo put all the Khan doubters and fans into their place by the end of the final bell.

romanov impressed me tonight, he fought a very clever, very controlled fight. is it me or does he look a little small at the weight?
anyhow. if khan comes through tomorrow:patsch its a natural.
    tough fight for khan imo...

I am tempted to agree that if the fight goes 12, Khan would most likely win on points...but, saying that...at the back of my head I think it wouldn't go 12...Romanov just looks too relaxed and too powerful and too experienced, at this stage...

Yeah but has Khan been picked off with clean accurate punches from anyone?
Eye catching or not if Yuri caught him with a few good counter punches he could really hurt Khan. Just look at Jonos eye tonight. You don't need all the power in the world when you can pick your shots like that.

Well...fans are bound to ask questions: "Why is Khan not facing Romanov? Is it because he has a **** chin?" etc.

Khan will be under pressure to fight him, IMO...he needs to face a puncher sooner or later. If he wants to be WC, he'll definitedly have to be able to put the likes of Romanov away, good punchers or not...

    ...:think

i do think khans got one of them chins it seems compressed.. joe calzaghes jaws soft, so when you hit it he can absorb the punches.. the same with mayweather, he just rides the punches.. khans chin seems like if you hit it hard enough it will shatter, he bring a lot of intensity to the ring and that can work against ya if you get hit in the right place

Well I remember Warren saying it was a future fight after the Earl fight.
I thought with simple maths that Thaxton would win tonight, then Khan would beat him for the euro and british title.

Fingers crossed they can pull off the fight as it would be a big one.

I think Romanov would struggle quite a bit with Khan's handspeed , and quick footwork but that eventually Romanov would get to him as he is extremely accurate and certainly has the power to hurt Khan .

Romanov's one flaw is that he's often not busy enough and can allow himself to be outworked(even by inferior fighters) so Khan's best bet would be to fights in bursts and use movement to stay well away from Romanov for the rest . I still feel that Romanov would eventually get him with a counter though , and if he stuns him I think he'd put him away .

Romanov has a nice tight defence and Khan would be forced to be a little bit adventurous to try and break through it and that's when he'd leave himself open . Doubling the left hook(which Khan loves to do) is a must not for Khan if he fights Romanov , it would be like asking to be knocked out by a straight right .

Romanov doesn't really give the other fighter anything , he doesn't leave much to counter and there aren't many holes in his guard , Khan would be forced to lead try and create something out of nothing and inevitably leave himself open to the very accurate , clean punching and most significantly hard punching Romanov .

Romanov somewhere around 6-8 for me .

I have to say though I couldn't blame Sports Network for not making the fight happen , Romanov is simply far too dangerous for Khan .

    Great post! Thank you!:good

Doesn't sound an easy fight for Khan at all, by the sounds of it...:-(

I would be very surprised/impressed if Khan fought Romanov now...:think

Yup this is all purely theoretical. No way fish face lets Khan near Romanov anytime soon. He's having a bad enough year as it is already.

Romanov must surely be better ranked than Khan now, even if Khan wins against MK. If Romanov doesn't get a shot at Khan, whom will he target? Perhaps he is not in a hurry to go for a title, though...but if he was...?

I bet he'd love a shot at Julio Diaz and then...probably Nate...?

Well it all depends on whether he's prepared to go stateside. The next fight, if he wants to progress, would be over there if he cant get Khan. Julio Diaz sounds perfect.
