How would Khan fare against Romanov, in a couple of months, do you think?

I have watched the fight..

I was not impressed with Romanov... He was not doing much...

Khan will beat him easy by speed.

 

Why would he prefer Khan?

Sadly I don't think he is. He probably cant understand anyone who doesn't charge in & maul ie Hatton.

Romanov does not have much of boxing skill..

But Romanov did do good in second rounds with many combo punches.

 

Romanov will sit around and defend his European title while patiently waiting for a WBA(regular title shot) .

As things are Jose Alfaro is WBA 'regular champ' . Paulus Moses is the mandatory to him . Moses is promoted by Phillipe Fondu .
The #2 is Juan Diaz , he won't bother with the WBA regular title and will probably look for a fight with Casamayor .

Romanov is #3 and will become mandatory after Moses has had his shot , so wins or lose Romanov(another Fondu fighter) will get his title shot and probably quicker should Moses win .

Alfaro will be making a mandatory before he fights Moses though .


I have to say though when was the last time a Namibian fighter managed to become a mandatory for a World title ? , especially one who has only fought outside of Africa once . Of course it's his win over Ukranian Kudriavtsev and the defending of the WBA intercontinental and Pan African belts that got him there .

Going on tonights showing, the Earl and Tontchev fights (the only ones I've seen) Khan-Romanov would be tricky call. I'd go with Romanov but Khan has the speed to prove me wrong. Some of these typically East European fighters really seem have trouble dealing with fast boxers IMHO (but then again, so do lots of boxers!!).

 

I think he'd like it to happen but wouldn't be too pushed as he'll make it to a World title fight without Khan before too long anyway .

He'd certainly like the money a Khan fight would provide and also improved rankings in the other bodies organisations(13th with WBO , 8th with WBC , 12th with IBF) where Khan is #3 with the WBO , #5 with WBC , #11 with WBA and #10 with IBF . So that he wouldn't be forced into just the WBA title fight , even though that's probably the one he'd prefer .

 

Khan would do a number on Thaxton too, dunno why people thought he should of fought Thaxton. Having a punch Is ok but he swings like a pub drunk and doesn't have Witter and Naz talent to fight like that.

Hennessey throws his fighters In the lions den when there clearly not good enough but get credit for getting a beating. Warren gives his guy a harder fight and his fighters get called exposed with lack of credit.
