The attacking best version of Aj that used to not be scared of being hit and fought fire with fire (like against Klitschko) would give Lewis a good fight, but still ultimately lose.
Spot on. Lewis gives Joshua hell for a couple of rounds, puts it on him and makes him run for his life, until the sixty year old gases and AJ sticks out the tongue and stops the old man like he stops Gary Cornish or Eric Molina. “nobody’s ever done that to Lennox Lewis koogs, we want wilder next” Fights frankfurter II next instead.
The version that got scared of getting hit the first time he got hit back, and stayed scared for the rest of his career?
Most people would've said Lewis would completely pummel Raham and McCall but he got KTFO, and Joshua's arguably better than either of those guys. He's for sure bigger.
Chisora also knocks out people at times when his telegraphed overhead right lands approx every 8 fights. The Lewis era was levels above the current era and Joshua is simply to me a non elite European Level fighter well promoted, well managed and any danger well avoided until he was found out on 1 June 2019. Not much better than a prime Matt Skelton for me.
Like who? Shot Szpilka? Takam? Dave Price? Yeah. The Lewis era in which dudes like Byrd and Ruiz held straps. One thing for sure is that he's more loved by the public than Lewis ever was and that's not remotely up for debate. Lewis was not a crowd favourite anywhere in the world. Joshua is.
Again well promoted to fleece the mug public. Remind me what he was in prison for, give me your views on his fake Humble persona to go with his MBE and the racism swept under the rug. The public are mugs along with anyone who fell for this charlatan in and out of the ring.
Imagine Joshua facing 20% of the pressure and tempo faced by Lee McGregor last night - he would be a folded deckchair within 2 rounds.
Dude, I just mentioned that he is much more popular than Lewis ever was. It's obvious that Joshua has had a more exciting style throughout most of his career. Lewis was thought of as boring and even during his peak years. When he faced Holyfield even the Sky pundits were talking about how boring his performance was. Joshua doesn't get that. Also, Joshua is much more charismatic than Lewis because Lewis was wooden, awkward, smug, and had people speculating about his sexuality (irrelevant and unfair but that's what happened).
Joshua has never been folded like a deck chair, but that's exactly what happened to Lewis when he was folded like a deck chair against Hasim Rahman.
You are mixing up personality and popularity with a boxing contest. Joshua has zero personality and has a tiny fraction of the ability, heart, stamina and desire of Lewis
Why does the public like Joshua more than Lewis? From my observation it's based on personality and style.
