No way that stubby white boy with no defense gets by Ezz Charles twice. He'd be lucky to go .500 in those championship fights.

But all of Marciano's opponents were small, ancient fighters well past their best or bums to begin with. Whereas marciano fought high caliber competition without a loss. How can he.do better than that. He can't!

Unfortunately there is no known footage of him in his prime so we have to rely on newspaper reports and the unfalible opinion from experts of the day!

    I like this thread...

marciano wouldn't even be fighting Ezzard Charles, he would be a club fighter.

Yep. The worst decade for heavyweights ever. They weren't even heavyweights, just fat middleweights.

Now the decade Marciano fought in had quite a few Hall of Fame talents. Deep, deep division.

Marciano was too small and unskilled to beat the likes of Walcott and Charles.

I doubt he could have beaten La Starza. La Starza would have fought circles around him.

I'll give him a maybe against a 50 year old Archie Moore and the mediocre Don Cockell.
