Not much talk about him since the Williams hype died down- being universally recognized as the #3 P4P, how much bearing would it have against these guys?

    Froch KO6 Martinez

    Kessler KO2 Martinez

    Ward UD12 (120-108 ) Martinez

    Jermain Taylor close UD Martinez

    Dirrell KO10 Martinez

    Johnson KO3 Martinez

    Abraham ??

    Martinez close UD Green

Sergio Martinez would NEVER fight any of those guys. He only calls out guys from 147 and below.

Not that great imo, to be honest.

 Not a Martinez fan, I take it?

I feel he beats them all in close fights, save for Ward, that fight is a toss-up.

I take it that you'd be concerned about his ability to absorb SMW punches when in fact, the guy's a natural JMW. Right?

I just don't see the Johnson KO3 Martinez... Maravilla boxes circles and runs a marathon for a clear UD IMO.

    All your opinion.

Here is some facts for you.

    Martinez UD12 Pavlik

Martinez sends Pavlik to the Betty Ford Clinic.

another fact. Pavlik feasted on JMW throughout his title reign.

Pavlik was the champ. Martinez didn't 'call out' Pavlik, he had to beat him in order to get the belts. :huh

Martinez hasn't shown any interest in fighting real MW's after he beat Pavlik. He avenged his loss to Williams, but called out Pac afterwards. Pirog has been trying to get in a unification bout with him without any success, see the article over at the Scene. :D

Here is what i think would happen.

Froch beats Martinez in a close fight more than likely a split decision which is called a robbery by some

Bute beats Martinez in a close fight where Martinez meets the canvas a few times.

Has Ward ever faced anyone with that type of speed? Anyways i would say Ward wins it but i dont know how.

Dirrell-Martinez is 50-50 but Dirrell is so so hurt so he shouldnt be fighting right?

    Martinez beats Taylor

    Martinez beats Abraham

    Martinez beats Johnson

I see him as a live dog against any of them just based on athleticism. The size difference would be huge between all of them but Abraham.

I don't see why moving up would be necessarily a bad option. Lots of good competition to prove himself in. He is getting older now and cutting will become more of a problem by then.

    Froch DRAW Martinez

    Kessler SD Martinez

    Ward SD Martinez

    Martinez KO Jermain Taylor

    Martinez KO Dirrell

Johnson SD Martinez in an ugly fight

Martinez UD Abraham in a boring, one sided fight where Martinez speed/clean punching dominates the plodding, closed guarded Abraham

Martinez UD Green in an embarrassing fight where Green is out worked by a gross margin.

Martinez vs Abraham would be awesome. At catchweight or maybe at 168 lbs and let them come at whatever weight they want.
