I think he would have taken a pretty easy first, say, 14 fights, then maybe fought someone like Sugar Ray Seales, in aroun '74, which I think he would win, I think after another couple easy fights, however they would rematch and it'd be a draw. I think he do ok for a bit, getting some more easy wins, beating the likes of Johnny Baldwin, and Eugene Hart, but dropping losses to Bobby Watts and Willie Munroe. I think he'd rematch Willie Munroe a couple times how ever, getting KO wins. He could probably win the Massachusetts Middleweight Title over someone like Mike Colbert, maybe beat Doug Demmings, and Kevin Finnegan a couple times, before getting a big win over someone like Bennie Briscoe. He'd maybe fight Sugar Ray Seales again, but at this point, around '79, I think he'd win easilly. I think he'd fight Vito Antuofermo, which would be close, maybe a draw, but I think he'd stop the likes of Alan Minter. Maybe defend his titles against the likes of Fulgencio Obelmejias, a couple times, as well as Mustafa Hamsho, Caveman Lee, Tony Sibson, Wilford Scypion, and rematch Vito Antuofermo, getting an impressive streak of stoppages. Duran would probably step up and face him, remarkably I think Duran could take him the distance. Maybe get some stoppages over Juan Domingo Roldan and Mustafa Hamsho again. I think around then he'd fight Tommy Hearns, I bet that'd be a war, one of those great fights like Stanley Ketchel Vs Tommy Ryan, two big punchers. I think Hagler would prevail, getting a fairly quick KO that doesn't say the true nature of the epic battle. He'd then probably fight someone like John Mugabi to get a quick KO, before a big fight with Sugar Ray Leonard. To make the fight happen everything would have to be Leonard's way, I think it'd be a close fight with an edge to Hagler, but Leonard would get the nod. He'd probably retire around this point.

How do you know PED use was more common then? Sure the testing was newer, but sterouid use later became more widespread. How is it more than speculation how many used?

Also yes, you can use PEDs & by overweight, & anyone COULD use, even someone without much muscle mass (due to poor training &/or genetics &/or poor PED usage.

But it is illogical & unfair to assume someone used or uses without good at least circumstantial evidence.
And Hagler having a bit more muscle for his frame than most is not suggestive of anything.
Being ~ 5' 9" & up to 160 on fight night is somewhat less than most today are.
And that amount of muscle-even at a very low body fat level-can easily be achieved by most who are dedicated to it.
Being that defined was mostly a product of minimal body fat.

There is no reason to assume Hagler likely drugged up.

My personal take on Tyson v Smith, Wow this would be a fight for the ages .Would make Foreman v Lyle look tame !!
Tyson down twice in the first ,cut and bleeding already .Round 2 and Tyson hurt again but suddenly ..BAM . he catches Smith with a smashing left hook .Smith is down ..but he crawls up just at 8.
Round 3 And James comes back to drop Tyson again !
Mike is hurt but gets up and hold s on for dear life .
Round 4 and suddenly both men connected at the same time !
    Both down unbelievable ..
But its Tyson up at 9 and that Winner in the most exciting fight in Heavyweight history .
    Can't Wait for Tyson v Tubbs ..

Call me crazy, but I think Buster Douglas, on the right night, could pull the upset.

He would be the favorite over all of them in an individual fight, but it would be fair to assume he would pick up a loss or 2 if he had to run that whole gauntlet in succession.

You guys are the same dreamers who yrs ago said that loudmouth Clay would whip my boy Liston. And look what happened? Sonny by KO in 47 seconds and the next time you saw Clay was as a comedian on "Laugh In." He was good as JJ though in "Good Times" and was great as Jimmy Ellis in "The Joe Frazier Story."
I do give you credit for your Holmes-Cooney prediction though. When Gerry, behind on the cards hit Holmes twice low and then when Larry bent over whipped the left to the chin for the KO, you cats were proven right. But who cpuld have seen 23 yrs later Cooney following BRUCE JENNERS lead and admitting to being a transperson. Now we have Caitlain Jenner and Gina Cooney. What a weird ride it's been.

Oh for sure .No way anyone gets through those guys with out losing once !I see spinks in with the best chance ,apart from Smith of course .I reckon the old Jinx gives Tyson a really hard fight ,could be close ,down to the wire in fact . .

I never accused Hagler, I only said it was very likely due to the time period.

Surely, we have to believe the pre-fight mindgames played by Berbick and Holmes would undress Tyson as a simple bully and have him totally out of sorts come fight night.
