How would Mike Tyson be viewed if he retired 37-0?

Well Lewis didnt have the best of chins, and I think if Lewis fought the top punchers of the all time, I give guys like Louis, Marciano, Dempsey and even prime Tyson a shot of landed something on Lewis. Lewis might still beat em, but you never know if they land a big bomb and take Lewis out of there. Out of shape or not, these fights should play on Lewis's chin vs ATG punchers. The fights didnt last long for stimia to be a issue.

You're missing my point. It's people picking worst vs best when it's meant to be best vs best.

If I'm debating Ali vs Louis, I don't pick the Ali that beat Cleveland Williams against the Louis that lost to Marciano. If it's Frazier vs Holyfield, I'm not picking the Ali I Frazier against the Donald Holyfield.

He'd be viewed as a lost talent retiring so early.

What I don't get is, tyson did go 37-0. That happened, if you rated him top 5 after that point why lower him? Nothing erases what he achieved and at the very worst, destroying his opposition in the 90's aside from holyfield definitely makes up for the douglas loss.

Tyson himself has stated he wanted to retire after the Spinks fight. He won the title, unified the belts and beat the oly heavyweight who stood in his way. He had nothing to prove.

But thats the thing about boxing, no matter how many people you beat, someone else comes along.

If Ali had beaten Holmes and Berbick and hung around for just 4 more years, he would have bumped into a young Tyson...

@DamonD and mr. magoo, not eveybody who looks at losses of fighters - here Douglas-Tyson or McCall/Rahman-Lewis - takes the wost version of them in a h2h match-up or is trying to discredit them - some do though but they are easy to spot. Most of people who do that want to take everything into account, strength and weaknesses, not just the goods.
