So how would Floyd have done against the guys who took on Louis? Who would Floyd despatch easily, who would he lose to?
Does Floyd survive the hooks of galento, beat Farr and defeat Godoy?

    Very interesting topic.

Most all time greats would be unable to match Louis's resume, simply based on the timeline.

They simply wouldnt be able to put together a run of world class form, over such a long timespan.

With Patterson we have the opposite problem.

He is one of the very few heavyweigths in history, who was consistently performing at world level, over a similar period to Louis.

He would fall short, because he was marginal for beating some of the opposition, if not an outright underdog against them.

I think we would see some interesting results here.

Patterson might be beating some of Louis's best opponents, long after they had consigned Sonny Liston the graveyard, in an alternative timeline!

I think he would have ko d Braddock, Farr would have been a tough one but would out point him, galento would have dropped him maybe a couple of times before Floyd stops him. Godoy would give him a hard time but Floyd stops him late on. Conn could be a tricky one but do believe Patterson ko's him but not with out a struggle. Abe gets ko d early. Walcott could be the dark horse I believe. He can certainly put Floyd down hard and perhaps keep putting him down till the ref jumps in.

Even when Braddock was getting the crap beaten out of him by absolutely everyone he fought, nobody was knocking him out. Guy had a great, great jaw. The only one who ever stopped him by knockout was Joe Louis, perhaps the greatest puncher in history at any weight.

I'd pick Patterson to decision him but it would take something really special from Patterson to get him out of there.

You'd certainly need very good stylistic reasons to see him beating Braddock by knockout but Farr being too tough...Farr was smart, but he was knocked cold by a couple of second-raters.

Personally, I'd pick Walcott to beat Patterson in that time-line, if he got him at the same time as Louis. Charles...very interesting fights.

Somebody would have beaten him long before he got to Walcott.

Hard to say exactly who, but it would have happened.

Between Braddock, Schmeling, Galento, Simon, Baer, Nova, and Mauelio, he is going to bet stopped.

    Possibly more than once.

There would also be issues in terms of the attrition that this schedule would have taken on him.

He would be in a lot more fights against elite opposition.

There would also be stylistic bullets to dodge, and just plain bad luck.

Galento and the super heavies that Louis beat would be an interesting match up with Patterson.

I think Floyd does well, beating Galento, Farr and Godoy perhaps easier than Louis did.

    Galento has the puncher's chance.

I'd be curious to see how he'd do against Conn, Schmeling, Pastor, Walcott and Charles. Not sure I like his chances against some of the Giants like primo Carnera, Buddy Baer, Max Baer and Abe Simon. Patterson for all his greatness was comparatively a small dude at heavyweight and with a questionable chin at that.

I'm pretty sure Shmelling was better than Ingo, so I wouldn't be surprised if he took a loss to him.

I don't see Patterson ko ing Farr to be honest. If the Louis of that time had to go the distance I don't see Floyd been any different. He would hurt Farr I think, mark him up but Farr would dig in like he did against Joe and see the end bell.

KuRuPT no disrespect but your post is absurd! Not to mention the era difference.
