How would Paul Williams do with a better trainer?

at one point in the fight in the later roudns manny started talking about how lucky peterson was to find a kid with such talent... when he was going on his rant i kind of had a feeling manny was imagining what he could potentially do with paul if he was in his stable....


manny ruins everyone though.... i wouldnt allow it

 

Maybe Paul would do worse with someone who didn't know him as well and care about him as personally as his trainer does. Superstar hired gun trainers aren't the be all and end all.

 

Manny has a history of success with fighters who have long arms. Look at Tommy Hearns. Lennox Lewis. Wlad. They all have great jabs and use their reach to their advantage. Even guys like Taylor and Cintron improved and excelled at one point under his guidance.

He would do wonders for Paul, who doesn't always sit on his punches, he smothers his punches and gives up his reach advantage. He's also open for counters alot! Manny would do wonders for him, NO DOUBT

 

nah seriously i think manny would gel well with williams
he could give him a edge to his game

and i am not one of those people who think manny would do wonders for every boxer around, some guys just will not work well with certain trainers but i think manny could shine paul up a little more and more importantly give him the tactical knowledge/game plan strats in fight scenario's

williams is a at a point in his carear where he aint gonna learn knew styles but can learn more ways of approaching different styles in fights

Too many cooks in the kitchen. Peterson's been with him since he was an amateur I believe, he's like a father to Paul and he's gotten him this far, I don't see what the need would be to **** up their formula with someone like Manny Steward.

 

that always seems like a great idea, because you basicaly have 2 trainers your spoilt (best of both guys) but im always skeptical of this because i dont think most trainers work well with another head trainer

I don't think he'd be any different. he's a volume puncher, plain and simple. His style suits him well cuz of his physical attributes, so there's no need to change ****. He'd be the same fighter no matter who was trainin him imo.

 

I hate when people think that a fighter who reaches a certain level needs to change trainers. Just because a person isn't famous or well known does not mean that they need a change in coaches when they get bigger fights.

Manny works well with fighters who are tall at the weight. Klitschko, Lewis, Hearns etc. He'd be a very good trainer for Paul in my opinion.
