Williams workrate would get Pavlik out of there, Williams showed the chin to keep him in there when times got difficult and Pavlik doesn't use the angles and speed that Martinez employs. Pavlik is a good matchup stylistically for Williams. He comes forward, is vulnerable (he CAN be hurt, as can Williams but Pavliks legs have been really jellified before) he hits hard but not with every punch. If Rubio can hang with Pavlik for so many rounds, so can Williams, and he can be very effective within those rounds. Pavlik will get battered into submission, 7 rounds. B-Hop stole his heart (in a non-romantic fashion )
What other way could he fight Pavlik? What you say last night is who PW is. A figher with no defense (he gets hit too much), he doesn't have knock out power himself. He doesn't even possess the power of Jermane Taylor, who floored Pavlik. PW is so overrated!! If PW leaves his chin avialable for a power puncher like he did against Martinez, no doubt he gets knocked out, period.
when pavlik and williams were suppose to fight i will tell u truthfully i was alittle worried...williams punch rate is fast and as we all know kellys isnt..but i never seen williams get hit like last night and when he does it throws him off.. his punches get wild and imo there is no pop in them ..he seems like he taps his opponets..he is open and i feel if kelly connects one time it will throw williams into slop fest. i feel kelly punches harder than martinez (which hits hard) and if williams was stuned with that what is he gonna do with a pavliks pop
B-Hop is one of the great all time defensive fighters, one of great skilled fighters. PW has no defense. His work rate against Pavlik wouldn't be affective because he doesn't have enough power to keep Pavlik off of him. Against a guy like Pavlik, who is a big puncher, PW chin would not stand up. I don't think throw a thousand pitty pat punches against Pavlik would get him the W.
