How would prime Calzaghe have done in THE SUPER SIX??

Damn right he retired. But one thing is true, it wasnt the wrong time to retire, 36 is postprime for sure - that or stick around for exhibition fights like Roy jones was doing with zags etc.

 

I agree with the RJJ part i think the 93-98 version would be favored over anyone in history at 160-175
but i think Calzaghe would beat ward somewhat comfortably just because of the styles. Calzaghe was knocked down by jones and hopkins right hands but ward is almost a one handed fighter and that one hand is his left. Then on top of that calzaghe has a higher workrate while ward is a fighter who likes to slow the pace down with the grappling so that only maybe a minute and a half of each round is spent boxing and then ward can just win that minute and a half. I dont think that would work with calzaghe, because of his quick feet i dont think ward could really wrestle him or fight on the inside. Plus calzaghe didnt really commit to his punches and had fast hands unlike froch, kessler or kovalev, calzaghe just kind of "popped" his opponents and later slapped them. Ward would never be able to land his left hoo on calzaghe ike he did on dawson

About 2/3 years before Bradley faced providnikov I wrote that if they fought that it would be a tough debatable fight which could go either way.
