Feinted open and countered at the distance. Competitive, maybe even slightly more effective when it's shoulder to shoulder, but outworked and outsped everywhere else.
Duran by close decision in an ATG war, his 1 punch power in both hands & natural size will give him the edge in the later rounds... it wouldn`t shock me to see a Chavez win & thats exactly what we would see if Roberto showed up any less than 110%.
The Chavez of the Rosario fight was just as bad a monster as Duran imo. He really was something special that night and would give Duran all he could handle and then some. Roberto just has a few more facets to his game, especially defensively. Although Chavez wasn't too shabby in that department either. Duran transitioned from offense to defence a little better and that's what makes the difference here IMHO.
Chavez wasn't better at much (if anything) than Duran, whereas Duran possessed skills that Chavez just flat out didn't. As good as Chavez was (and he was great) Duran was better.
